I'm always suspicious when companies send a free item to a RU-vid reviewer because you know they're sending a guaranteed perfectly functioning product. I'm more inclined to trust a review when the reviewer gets the product "off the shelf" himself. Still a great review.

They shipped it directly from Amazon. They couldn’t choose a boosted unit. It ships from a random fulfillment facility in the case of this product. 👍🏻

This is a great device for under $100. And is inline with my other Swedish made CO2 sensor. And I would recommend doing a manual calibration. As my factor calibration was off by 20 PPM. My guess is like my other sensor the default CO2 is factory calibrated at 400 PPM CO2. The live official CO2 reading for the world is 421.5 PPM for today. And should be reading this measurement in fresh outside air. Manually calibration can only be adjusted at 10 PPM increments.

It appears to be on a flash sale for $100 which is a great deal. Being “off” by 20ppm is within the margin of error though for the sensor. I highly recommend people not manually calibrate these unless they have a controlled scientific environment which I don’t think anyone has access to. Outdoor CO2 can fluctuate depending on where you are, how the wind is blowing, etc. But yeah it’s a great device!

That data is done daily and it is the official government data that is free online. And that is how you calibrate the CO2 monitor. 400PPM is the old outdated standard. 420PPM is the new standard. And with the Inkbird you can always revert back to the factory calibration of 400PPM. These CO2 sensors do have sensor drift. And should be checked and recalibrated every few months. @@Slimothy

@@ChessQuizToday Sensor drift can usually be mitigated by bringing the devices outdoors for 10-30 mins I’ve found. 420 is global outdoor average. But the govt does not know the current amount in anyone’s neighborhood. Best to not calibrate unless you need it. Best to keep things consistent. But you do you!

If your air is fresh. It will be close to the 420PPM the world wide average. That is why you calibrate the sensor in fresh air. You do know how these sensors work. And why they are able to be calibrated. And need to be calibrated. And you do know your neighborhood is not going to be better then the 420 PPM baseline. It will only be the same or worse. That is why 420PPM is the BASELINE when calibrating the CO2 sensor. If you do not Calibrate the CO2 Sensor ever. You will suffer from sensor drift. And you will not be able to know if your inside readings are accurate. These CO2 sensors need to calibrated. And are suppose to be calibrated by the user. That is why calibration is part of the app. @@Slimothy

@@ChessQuizToday They calibrate themselves when you bring them in fresh air. You can check them. I have had my Aranet4 for a while now and never had to do a manual calibration. And they suggest against it. Do what you like bro it’s not that serious 🤣

How does it compare to the Aranet4 with C02?

Spot on. They’re the same sensor :) both fantastic. We have a comparison video coming but if all you wanna know is about CO2 sensor, they’re both the same and both really good (and accurate)
