I feel as if I'm in too deep. I've been watching doodle date videos for what feels like hours. THEY ARE SO GOOD I CANT STOP. I feel like I'm beginning to pick up the accent. Someone help
My daughter found her first Ginnie pig in the park. He was all of 3 inches long a little black and white Dutch. She called him Lucky, he slept with my cats and loved to sit on your shoulder when watching telly. He lived till he was 9! She then had 2 more Stout and Ginniness. Lol. We have lots of bats living near us. I had to nurse one for 48 hours when it knocked itself out crashing into the window.. It was fine, and we let it go once it showed it was fully compass mentus lol.. We borrowed a, budgie cage from the neighbour he hung upside-down on the perch, hanging on with his claws. We couldn't hear it, but our cats could.. We covered it with a towel and popped him in the boiler cupboard to keep it warm. They tend to sleep in groups to keep warm. We fed it meal worms which he enjoyed however, they're insect feeders in this country, feeding on the wing, they are also a protected species. Couldn't find out the sex, and I didn't want to handle it too much. Loved you're bats.. Xx
You two are SO lovely!!! I absolutely adore how the doodles came out, they are so stunning! Can't believe you guys just whipped that up on the spot! haha :D Can't wait for more!! xx
Are you kidding?! I've just been sat here bundled up in a duvet with a cup of tea watching your videos! I love your guys' vibe, you two make me feel so relaxed and your drawings are SO wonderful!!
The bat Steph is drawing is the largest bat in the world, it's vegetarian bat. There always eating sweet potatoes at the zoo. They hang by 4-5 inch hooks things (a real scientific name) at the end of the wings, made of similarly to our finger nails.
Just been going through all your videos in one go, they're so inspiring to watch. I actually got some of these inks in a sale a while back but have been too scared to use them - I'll have to give them a go! Your bat drawings are super cute. Steph's looks like something out of a children's story book and I love the white-on-black effect of Adam's drawing!
If you get one of those filler scrub brushes where you fill the stem with dish soap, those work wonders for cleaning palettes. They tend to get into all the creases and crevices with each little bristle. Lots of very hot water is also helpful.
Both your little bats turned out super cute! ^^ And I am kinda of jealous of your inks, the coloured ones are hard to come by here in Sweden, but I orderd a bottle of black for inktober so I am excited to try it out :) And sorry, don't know any bat facts ;) Looking forward to next episode
+Annika Landberg Aww I feel your pain, most pencil brands I like have to ship from the US which costs so much in postage. The pencils usually break in transit too ;___;
the music at the beginning reminds me of the Build-a-Bear Workshop DS game I had when I was little...I think it played while shopping in the game don't mind me lol
yesterday was the first time i used these inkes, i baught myself a dip pen and the ink is amazing. I had the black indian ink, got it free a year ago from student day givaway day but only decided to try it out yesterday. But i definattly recomend using dip pens!
+TheSuperFunArt Woah that's awesome that you got some for free!! Ink creates the best lines ever :D I just got a Lamy fountain ink pen for my birthday, I want to get an ink converter for it so I can fill it with all the different colours I have :o
oh yeah! deffinatly try it out, i got my dip pen for 9 pounds with 6 nibs. I enjoy dip pens more than fountain ink pens because i feel it's easier to change colour and nibs :)
Bats do hang by their feet, and how they don't fall down is that their feet and the surrounding muscles/tendons are built so that they are clamped closed by the bat's own body weight. This is useful since it doesn't take any energy to hang this way, but don't quote me on that. I'm not a bat expert, just a bat fan. Love the channel, I look forward to your videos every sunday!
You two are too cute. laughing with you both from Canada. omg nearly peed my pants when you admitted you had no idea how the bat was hanging from his branch. lol
there is actually a soap for brushes and palets and everything paint related. It's really good. I'll try to find it in one of my boxes (I'm moving) and I'll let you know!
+Doodle Date ok I've found it! finally lol it's called Cleaning Soap for brushes by "Da Vinci". I'll send you a pic on twitter. it's really really good. saved me lots of brushes
You two are the cutest couple ever, please keep making videos, you should try doing a cheap biro challenge! ^.^ Also for your palette troubles I've heard spraying it with glass cleaner, letting it sit for 5 minutes and then wiping it with a paper towel works wonders!
+SpiceOrange AHH thank you for the advice SpiceOrange, we'd never heard of that tip before so will definitely look into it! It really kills your fingers trying to scrub it with your hands XD especially when nightmare paints like acrylics have got stuck in there x__x Also thanks for the challenge suggestion, we'll definitely get around to doing it at some point!! We love using cheap supplies so it's perfect hehe :D
i love watching ur vids and i love both of ur styles also thanks for using different products it helps me think of what i want to pick out ^^ im a art student who has applied for animation and characters are my main focus so this helps me a lot thanks !
+sana hussain Aw thanks so much Sana! We love experimenting with different stuff because you never quite know what the end result will be :D Best of luck with animation and characters too, that sounds like so much fun!!
old youtube but the paint palet can be cleaned with baby tissues? or water with dishwashing fluid. babyshampoo also can be used with water mixed. then use brushes to scrub that isn t rough but soft. to prevent damage.
That Doodle Date picture ending reminded me of a cute children's TV show! You're both so adorable. (I'll say it now so I don't have to write it in every comment, because it'll always be true XD) Brindle is cutest tho.
+Heart Full of Books AHH I totally miss old kid's TV shows where you could send in your artwork!! ;___; Doodling at home definitely has guinea pig advantages too
for the pallet, have you tried soaking it in lemon juice then scrubbing with a warm cloth and soapy water? I've done that with my old paint supplies when they're stained and its lifted quite a bit but still parts stayed. I love your videos and you're such amazing artists and an adorable couple. all the best x ❤😌
+PointlesslyNoContol Videos Aw thank you so much for stopping by to offer help! I'd never heard of that method before. We actually have some in too because I forever keep it stocked to put on pancakes hehe XD Will have to give it a try at some point- thank you :) - Steph
I have been trying to resist buying those inks. I may have to get a few now. Talking about drawing you guys... I been drawing you two while I watch sometimes. I hope thats okay. I have also tried to keep to the same items you guys been using to limit myself. It been really fun and a nice change. Will you guys be thinking of doing Inktober? What is the first thing that bats learn at school? The alphabat.
+Ellie Forster We literally almost died laughing at that, Ellie!! We both choked and went into hysterics LOL! I have no idea why but we read it out loud as a serious question and the answer caught us off guard more than it should've XDDD We're so flattered that you'd draw us too :o (we'd love to see if you ever feel comfortable with sharing!) and it's so awesome you'd limit yourself to similar art materials ^__^ We're hoping to do Inktober this year, we tend to upload those doodles on our instagrams if you fancy a peek :D
+Doodle Date I'm glad :) Lucky enough for me I'm already following you guys so I can't wait. I will definitely be sharing one at some point! (Once I have confidence to do so!) Keep up the fangtastic work!
Bats use sonar to hunt for prey and when they see nets they sometimes think they are spider webs and try to fly through them to get stuck so scientist but up nets to study some bats
I know this is kinda late but it works for me (at least for the oil paints I use). Try soaking it in a mix of vinegar and lemon juice. Roughly 1 tps of lemon for every 5 tps of vinegar. Hope this works for you if you see it :O).
Try soaking your paint palette in some Oxyclean and warm water. It usually gets a lot of stuff out that I'm never sure will come out. Never tired it on paint before but don't see why it wouldn't so long as it's not oil colour. It may need a couple soaks.
Hey Steph, I found that using a cue tip, not wet, after wetting the palette slightly works with cleaning the palette! Hope that was good enough advice.
i have that pallet! also you CANT leave watercolor sitting in it or it'll stain! you have to clean it out with every use, which is kinda wasteful if you have alot of watercolor in your pallet but thats just what it is!
