Wow the inkjet definitely gets the realistic references spot on!:) Definitely comes down to personal preference though for each artist on how they create their stencils! Either way works great!:)
Love this video!!! This is going to be a great gift for my husband. Just ordered the inkjet stencil kit & the Epson ET-2750 printer. Thanks a bunch!!! ❤
It’s so cool to see the industry evolve. The only thing with this is while I’m stenciling I’m familiarizing my self with the design, that’s why I like to hand stencil. But this is for sure awesome !
Agreed there. Hand stencile takes way longer. But the first run is nice. I love my brother pj763. But I def gave this a go with a few different try’s. Curious how long it lasts for others
A guy told me one time, "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner
🚨🚨🚨 ATTENTION 🚨🚨🚨 This message is aimed at the guy named lil X aka Xavier in the video who is doing the tattooing! He owns 2 shop in The Hartford area! He also is one of the biggest, the most fake, the most sneaky person you will ever come across! This dude will come across as very soft spoken and "Humble" but he's the absolute opposite of this! This dude slept with his wife's best friend who so happens to be my wife of 3 kids!!!! This dude was one of my good friends and for many years he would smile in my face, shake my hand, drink beer and even go out to eat but all along He was after my wife!!!!!!
You should make a video from beginning of stencil to end of tattoo to show how well it stays....I'm curious how easy/hard the stencil is at wiping off....is it the same as regular thermal copier as far as staying power,
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uSFWH1oDJD8.html Check out this artist and his channel - he does start to finish videos using the InkJet Stencils.
Does the stencil hold better then the regular thermo method? There's a lot more purple on the skin than there would be from a hand stencil, is that ever an issue? UK here btw.
It stays on longer and is less than half the price per printed sheet. Some users have found leaving the stencil paper on the skin longer results in the stencil staying visible longer.
So after you print it out on a tracing paper do you go straight to transferring it on skin or you have to trace the image first before transferring it??
Hi friend! I bought the printer and STENCIL INKJET ink. But I bought the printer on Amazon then I ordered the ink bottle alone at 150 usd. Not the kit at 210 usd. What did you take to start? Sorry for my bad English I am a French jerk. :) Merci for your reply man!
Its a pricey startup but them stencils look amazing...but if you can make a few thousand stencils on one bottle it makes it worth the price....if using an artprogram do you have to fill up all the reservoirs or can you use just one if you make the image monochromatic in the art program....
Our Stencil-prep neutralizes the pH of the skin so the methyl violet will dye the skin cells. When applied correctly the stencil will stay until the skin flakes off.
What's the difference between this ink solution and "NOX Violet Hectograph Ink" ? Looks kinda similar, and the NOX is waaaay cheaper... correct me if I'm wrong...
Not sure what NOX Violet Hectograph ink is but I know dozens of tattoo artists that have tried putting hectograph ink in printers only to have it clog up. Our formula is the result of years of development to eliminate clogged print heads. The printers are very precision instruments to print 5,000 dpi high resolution images.
Hey awesome video and review of the product. Question, did you filled all ink tanks with this inkjet Stencils ink? And did you went full tank on each one or just used de 4oz bottle for all tanks? Thanks in advance, And keep up the good work.
We recommend putting one ounce in each of the 4 tanks - maybe a little more in the black tank. It's important to have ink in all4 tanks to avoid air getting into the ink lines.
Donna Dearinger hi , thanks for the reply. I think I messed up then :/ I filled up the black tank with the inkjet Stencil ink, and the other ones with the proper ink. I did it cause in the Epson iPrint you got to choose between color print or monochromatic print (the usual black and white). This way I thought the printer only used the inkjet ink for the supposed black and white print. And did you used any paper? Thanks once again.
Let me know how that goes. We sourced the paper that we found works best - Pacon tracing paper. This tracing paper is thin enough to conform to the body and does not absorb too much of the ink, allowing the best transfer we have found for just $0.05 per sheet.
TatuDerm hi, That's what i thought it might be. The type of paper, but the fact that i only filled the black tank with the inkjet and not the other tanks doesn't have nothing to do with it right? Cause i choose to print monochromatic and this option only uses the ink in black tank, correct? And do you know why the print size option on the iprint app, doesn't show the complete preview image to print even after i selected the different sizes to print. Thks
Not sure about iPrint app. Maybe a question for the inkjet stencils group on facebook. We have not done any testing putting ink in only the black tank. We have had customers try and leave the color tanks empty and the printer would not print.
I know this is an old video but I’m interested in this setup can you let me know what all I would need for this to work properly like do I have to purchase other thing besides the printer the ink jet and special paper
Anyone else notice that he has only been filling the black ink tank on his printer? None of the other tanks have stains when he's filling. Seems like it saves ink that way.
Is it possible to use this with an Epson ECOTANK ET-M1120 Which is also an Ecotank inkjet printer, but a monochrome one with only one ink reservoir. This looks like a good printer since it's used to printing driferent tones of black.
I use to put all the ink of my 4oz bottle in the same tank assigned for the black.. do I need to reorder ink to fill all the other tanks or it must work with just the black one filled Thanks !
I have been using a 24 pin dot-matrix printer for yrs now. No need for inks or ribbons, just get your outline ready and size it on your fav program ( I use Jasc photo instead of photoshop) and print it. A little noisy but has not failed me yet. They last forever.
Hi, thanks for your video! I have one question Left now.. Is it possible to swap the stencil ink for regular ink? I want to use my Epson printer for stencils and for normal colour prints
No - do NOT put Epson printer ink in the tanks if you are printing tattoo stencils. Printer ink is considered a contaminant and should not be put on the skin.
THE WAY DISS VID WAS BROKEN DOWN IN A WAY DAT YO MY DUDE IM GUNNA MAKE DAT NEW ROUTINE WIT 1 SELF CUZ DAAM I REALLY FIND UR WAY MUCH FASTER N EASIER THANKS MANITO GEE DOODLE LOLOL 💯 👍 👍👍 👍 👍
Let's say I wanna do this. What do I need exactly? U shoukd put it in the description, like type of printer, and what type of inks. I was focused on the stencil printing. Lol.
You can purchase any Epson EcoTank printer - we recommend Jet.com for US customers. We sell everything else you need - ink, paper and Stencil-prep® on Amazon.com or on our website www.tatuderm.com
This is really impressive but unfortunately we don’t have this ink in India. How is it possible for us to make stencils using this method here ?? Do you have any suggestions? Please help I’m awaiting your reply
Our product development was very thorough and now we have thousands of systems working all around the world. It's a simple concept with lots of science in the ink.
Just order mine and already went and got a second printer for inkjet. Lol do you know any phone app i can do what you did on the photoshop? I dont have a pc at the shop and not planing on getting one. I know there are some nice apps that do a similar edit but if you know any let me know. Thanks for the tips and amazing job
The only way I can imagine someone came up with a $150 price tag. Was for them to think of a very high number then doubled it. $150 is ridiculous for a 4oz bottle.
Id imagine this is for artist who will easily make that money back in few tattoos. Its a risk yeah but i mean why not use this on very detailed tattoos and regular stencil machine for simple desings. Saves the ink on simple design. Or give a option where regular stencil machine you charge for first stencil paper like $1 (of course before quoting the person) and like $5.50 for stencil inkjet idk these are just ideas and random numbers
I am researching becoming a tattoo artist, coming from a cake business background. I can absolutely see buying this at some point, but not today lol can someone please comment on this in 2 years?
But an eco tank printer can be bought for 200 and up bucks...so I mean I guess it makes a little sense as comparative to the market . it is unreasonable why dose everything in the tattoo industy have to be so overpriced
Yes - it is Epson ET-2750 however this model is discontinued. Epson Monochrome models are best - they use less ink. M1170 print only, M2170 print copy scan.
hi just invested in this product im all set up printer works but when printing the stencil on what ever paper im not getting the light shades so a a portrait for example im get eye hair lips nostrels but everwhere else is blank no no cheek bones etc... any help would be grateful
for portraits, mine usually prints dull, not as deep or vibrant and we have the same exact setup, the reference will have enough contrast but printed its muted as hell.
Maybe bring this concern to the InkJet Stencils user group on Facebook. If you print color the printer will use ink from all 4 tanks. If you print black only it only uses ink from the black tank. You can also change the contract in your photo editor. It's a learning curve just like any new technology.
Check out the demonstration in the InkJet Stencils® Facebook page by Sebastian Murphy. He shows how to use the photo editor to get the best stencil image.
it only prints black and shade if u fill up the red blue and yellow with black how can that be working? u tellin fill them all equally.. but i only see inksplatter on the black 1?
Epson Tech support says it won't print with ink in only the black tank. Two artists have a printer working with ink only in the black tank - color tanks empty. I have a printer working with ink in only the black tank. I'm working on writing a process but at this point I don't know why it's working. Stay tuned for updates on the InkJet Stencils Artist group on Facebook.
Could you use that ink on any printer tho ? Just pour it into an empty cartridge? I love this idea . I am definitely going to give it a try . Thank you bro .
Increíble stencil innovación radical lo mejorcito que veo ahora mismo. Calidad precio es muy repito pero que muy cara la tinta y lo que es peor que te obligan a pillar la impresora mas el papel. Europa me sale casi por 500€.
This will be a dedicated printer - everything you print will be purple. It's still OK to use for release forms or other printing. Good to use the printer every day.
Right now all 4 tanks need ink. We are working on a process to just fill the black tank but it is not verified yet. If/when we have a reliable process to fill just the black ink tank we will publish an update.
We recommend Pacon tracing paper and sell a ream of 500 sheets for $25. Tissue paper is too thin to print single ply however you can use glue stick to attach it to a regular paper carrier on the leading edge. Just be careful not to get any glue in the printer.
