Thank you!! Logos By Nick is how I got started with Inkscape. Made the switch because of his videos and seeing what Inkscape can do. Love his channels!
In Singapore try to graffiti a building.. you will get a public whipping with a cane. Not a nice experience, but guess what... I didn't see one example of a building tagged. 🫣
Your videos are always amazes me, very creative. Rick, is it possible to take us through the LPE tour n show us how do they work. Sorry for troubling u. 🤓
Your videos are amazing. You can find instructions on the Internet how to create a very real-looking kiwi fruit with Illustrator. I would like to do this with Inkscape. Can you make a video how to do it?
Very helpful! Thanks, Rick! I’d never touched the sculpt tool before but guess I’ll have to play around with it soon!! Random question… do you have a video where you show what the open and closed eye buttons do with the spray can? Oh… and another random question… have you done a tutorial on the mesh gradient tool/mesh gradient fill? Thanks again! Happy St Patrick’s Day!
Thanks! I did highlight the open and closed eye icons once in the "Many Shapes" video (has Saturn in the thumbnail). It works okay if you only want to spray your object on blank space or if you only want to spray on top of an opaque area.
Forgot to mention about the gradient mesh tool- I have a few videos I've been working on in the background that uses it but for some reason Inkscape 1.2 has given my computer problems with consistency with the tool, so I haven't featured it much yet. Trying out version 1.3 soon, so maybe there is a fix.
Hey Rick, loving your work and videos, I have a request for another, how to wrap text around a 3d sphere so it pops from the middle and slopes away to the edges and maybe 3d text if that's possible???
Thanks Dan! I tested out a few methods to pop text out of a sphere. I can record one of them. It's not perfect. Is there an example you want to see? Like from an ad or logo or something? In the meantime, here is one of my previous 3D text videos: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FcwoFAqHXv0.html
@@IronEchoDesign Thanks for the reply, So my initial thought was something along the lines of the "daily planet globe" from the superman movies. with 3D text popped/wrapped around it. found an old tutorial (peppertop comics) but its a bit dated now and thought there must be an easier way with the current version (1.2) I know you can create a wired sphere, but I haven't played with it yet. anyway would love to see what you can come up with💪 PS I've re-created the 3D text vid you mentioned with a nice sand background which has been blown up so it twinkles.. 🤩
Just wanted to follow up on the globe 3D text. I've been playing with it, and can get pretty close but its still not in proper perspective. Close, but in the Uncanny Valley. This is an example where Adobe Illustrator still outshines. There are mapping features that let you contour objects or apply texture automatically at any angle. Light-years easier than with Inkscape. I'll keep trying and maybe I can crack it.
Do you click or double click to spray the blobs? The only mode in which I was able to do it was "spray objects in a single path". I have the latest version on inkscape. Thanks!
Click on the spray blob so its selected. Single click. Only an original blob will work for the cloning mode. So, if an original blob is selected, you can click on Spray Can and then change to the second mode up in the control bar menu. Hope this helps!
You're amazing, Rick, and this tutorial answered quite a few questions I had, about creating Splatter Vectors! I hadn't ever even tried any of this yet, largely because my imagination wasn't expanded, regarding this type of effect! Combining this with color theory, is absolutely mind-blowing! Thank you, for expanding my boundaries! 🫶 💪 🤓
