How are you? I’m an Ex -Con and I was 38 when I hit the Reception Center in Delano in 1999….and it sucked because I never thought I’d never go there, especially at 38. I got 3 yrs. with 1/2 so I did 19 months 20 days. One thing I can say is there’s at least 75% of the C.O’s. That are straight up cool. As long as you give them respect, they definitely give you the same respect back. And what amazes me is you sound like you were there just to do your job and make it home safe. And I do think you were a good, cool C.O. And I won’t lie, seeing you guys having to have to run to a building when the alarm goes off, not knowing what you’re running into. So yeah, I give you guys a lot of respect. Anyhow, I am 60 years old now all my children are grown married with their own children, so yeah, I have a good amount of grand children you can say, and I take pride in all of my family. I got addicted to painkillers, and eventually heroin. My story is unbelievable, but it’s absolutely 100% real. I met a C.O. Who worked for Lyft. I got to know him, and we are great friends now. It’s been a few years now, He retired and is on Social Security And he just was approved. But we speak at least once or twice a month. He’s told me some funny stories as well as I did. Oh, I didn’t tell you. So I trans packed feb 2nd 2000 to New Corcoran the substance-abuse treatment facility. I paroled in March on Saint Patrick’s day Lol. It was on a Friday I believe and I was on high control. somewhere they made a mistake. I hope this goes through being so long. Have a nice day and I’ll be sure to get back to you and tell you some more about how my life turned out. I just want to thank you for your service and there’s no animosity because we all are what we eat, have a blessed day. Stay safe and take care.
I was a co back in the day when females were just coming in. I had a few good partners when I started o was pite very seldom raised my voice except this one time. I was in control sgt saw a group of in mates I knew their mother's from visiting sgt told me to see if I could do anything I moved right through the crowd I'm sure they thought I was crazy I saw inmate so and so went right up to him and read him the riot act then I grabbed his collar and told him I'm calling your mother behaving like this and makinge walk out here it's dangerous. Y now he'd do anything to get off the yard I drug him to control I don't know who was laughing the most the officer in control or the inmates. The inmate was very tall and had to weigh 200 on the other hand my silly self weighed 103 acting like I could really do this
One time in Centinela on C Yard…in the Gym. The overnight CO working the catwalk got into it with the blacks in the middle of the night. They went back and forth and the Mexican CO told the black dudes “that’s why you guys always get your asses kicked by the homies…” that shit almost created a riot at around 1am. Everybody jumped up and put their boots on. They had to get a LT to come thru to calm shit down. That was like late 2006.
Every dude in that house had to respect your get down after that. They may not like it or agre but from that moment on....they knew who you were and what you were about. Kudos
They sent you on a dummy mission bro, you handled it like a gladiator though. I don't love cops or c.o.s but real will always recognize real, regardless of job title. Your channel is a unique and interesting perspective and I've come to hold a good deal of respect for you, keep it up.
Good shit Hector, keep it going strong Bro numbers are going up pretty steady. People are liking the honesty you show and a few more funny stories will be on point, just for shits and giggles to have a few laughs. CMR 100% Gracias
Appreciate the content and your point of view from experiences that we both encountered.. Both Raza, just different sides of the fence… hope you hit.. your experiences, thoughts, and ideas may help many understand!!!
RJD had the E-bunks 40 on the floor, and I tried to keep the elderly and weak lame inmates there, but the 3rd watch C/O's always felt pressure to move the shot callers or the hustlers there. A lot of CDCR is 2W vs. 3W staff.
I always went hands on first and foremost, was respected for it. Made for an easy go on the block during my time in Texas. On a side note, if anyone I was working with in a block did that bs to me, itd be on after shift.
I retired from CDCR in 2007. I was shocked to see the quality of officers they hired. I worked with a LOT of lops who didn't want to work, or didn't know how to do their jobs. Laziness was everywhere I went. Lots of racial BS, too! When I drove up an officer told me it's not the inmates that will give you grief it's the staff. He was RIGHT! Lots of wanna be hard cases getting in your face. Basically CDCR hired street people. When I hired on the dept. didn't even do background checks! They just took your fingerprints, and sent them to the DOJ to check for wants and warrants. WTF? They demanded professionalism, but showed none themselves. I promoted to CC-1 in 2000. Best move I ever made. No more lame partners, job changes, uniforms, in exchange for weekends and holidays off, 4-10 work week choice, had my own office, and only had to answer for my own work, and not some chump FU who couldn't spell him name. I retired, and took the money and ran. No regrets.
Man, what a messed up situation. The type of person I am, I wouldn't have spoke to them the entire shift as well because whatever else coming out of my mouth probably would have been non-professional. Sorry you had to work with a coupla' weenies. At the end of the day, you just followed some advice from your colleague next door. Glad you made it through all that man. At the end of the day, you stood your ground and kept pushing forward. Respect! BTW, Tucson, AZ in the house! #KeepPushingForward
@@thatprisonguard I remember my dad told one the homies, who was all yoked up ,coming home from pinta “ lastima de de brazos no te gusta trabajar “, pretty much what a waste of arms since you don’t like to work” ! Those old men knew how to get a point across and leave you without a rebuttal!Too bad that generation is just about gone,RIP DAD luv u!
I was on the A yard in Centinela in the 90’s the gym had beds but none in the buildings. I liked it cause they gave us short in Centinela but that heat is no joke.
That is a crazy, f'ed off situation you shared here with everyone, and thank you for sharing it! I don't blame you at all for being pissed at your "partners"...I would have damned sure been white-hot pissed--asking, "HEY...are you guys ON GLUE, or WHAT? You guys take a handful of PAIN KILLERS...stuck in your CHAIRS?!" Scared?! Well, NO S**T!! Anyway, glad nothing more happened with that one, LT! Thanks for the content you're putting out, best wishes to you brother! Greetings from Big Sky Country-State of Montana!
Thank you for the support, Will! I absolutely LOVE Montana! We took a family trip there last year, first time being there. Drove to Glacier and all the major cities. Definitely loved the Freedom, there.
@@thatprisonguard I grew up in Flathead Valley...been to Glacier so many times and it's always a great trip! I now live near Yellowstone Park, which has it's own beauty and Freedom, for sure! It's a fantastic state to be fortunate enough to call "Home"! Glad you and the family could make it up to enjoy it, for sure!!
You have a real special thing gong on. I'm betting on more great content and POV. Thank you so much for sharing. Yessir i will be tapping in from San Jose Northern California. Gracias.
I've bin out of prison for a very long time .... This by far is the funniest story I've ever heard but not in a disrespectful way. What a fucked up situation. As a northener I seen the Hippocratic ways in how individuals operated and it was a huge awakening. I didn't drop out but my eyes were definitely open. It's a breath of fresh air to hear a corrections officers prospective.
Yeah LT. I’ve seen that a few times….A lot of convicts(which I was) study people’s mannerisms, body language, and demeanor and asses everything. I wudve seen one guillable CO, two unsupportive uninterested COs, and a tower cop not dictating anything. Usually the tower cop relays messages cus he’s the eye in the sky. So it definitely looked like an issue they could’ve pushed…. And they did
16:44 lmfao this shit is funny as fk! I've had a similar experience and being let down, nowhere near that level of danger, though. Thanks for the laugh.
Hector your message is giving me information about fighting those demons, and chasing those ghost,do you recommend any book on how to deal with child hood trauma?
Hey brother, RESPECT. Down at Cal, same thing. Get some dudes in uniform acting all hard with the inmates, and when it's time for a situation there they go like cowards. Now, you're stuck with the clean up!!. Much love & RESPECT.
Did you ever point out the correct program? Bunks get 24 hour day room or were the inmates trying to run game? You explained the gym but was it the same for bunks in the day room? Why would half the inmates rack up & the others not rack up?
I never figured it out. I was just there for the day and my partners who were just as new as me told me to call next door so I did 😂 Straight left me hanging
Scared or not, you should always have your friends back and fight with him. That is some coward action no point in having muscle if you aren't going to sometimes be the muscle and back people up.
Love the content . Hearing this from the c/o side of view is different . Irony when I was prison I would beat myself up knowing I ruined my life and didn’t listen to my brother to become a c/o. Anyways I would love to see something on the green wall . If it is a myth could you clear that up ? Appreciate it
Loving the channel 💯 Just curious…. Was it correct about the floor sleepers 24/7 day room? 2005 delano A yard i was on the on the floor and we had Day room with whichever tier had it (top/bottom) so pretty much all the time but only during dayroom hours. So during recall , it was back to the fishbowl 😂
Orale compa de donde eres? Apenas la prisión de Utah me acaba de contratar y la academia empieza en febrero. Pero también el sheriff de la cárcel me ofrecieron trabajo. No se cual escoger. Cárcel o prisión Tu como ves?
I caught a staff assault at centanela delta yard in 2010 in the gym. The CO Ibarra came into the gym and provoked and caused a riot. No winners in that situation. Those times in prison were fucked up
I drove all the way from San Diego to help clean up that mess after that. Yea, I’m guilty of doing some messed up things night. I was young, new, and angry.
@@thatprisonguard I was young and angry my self and to be honest I don't regret anything that happened that day. The only messed up thing was CO Knowlles was a decent guy. Him and Ibarra both came in trippin because of a staff assault that took place a few days before. I'm glade all that is in the past... Respect to you sir, keep making content I like to see it from your prospective...
@@Big.meatgee Damn, yea and because of all those staff assaults happening they started putting more Officers in the gyms. Like a week later a riot kicked off in A Gym (Blacks/Mexicans) I was in the gym gun that day with another partner. Wild times, that’s a trip we were both there but on different sides. Wishing you the best brother.
