What rods (length and weight) and reels (size- baitrunner or normal) do you recommend for Torrens Carp?

Hi Clint, in all honesty, a baitrunner reel would be ideal for carp fishing, however a standard spin reel does the job just fine. Anything from a 2000-3000 size reel is perfect 👍🏻

Something I've found about adelaide carp since fishing other places, small lakes and reseviours such as warren is that the carp from the Torrens just have so much go for their size. I always assume they are bigger then they actually are just cause they pull like a steam train. I think it's the current and the fact that they're up and down the Torrens constantly but theres no telling 🤷‍♂️ Maybe that massive flood the torrens had a few years ago beefed them all up 🤣

You’re not wrong! I’ve always thought that the small streamed carp have a lot more go than for say fish in the Murray river! Just my opinion though😁

That’s all you can do mate! I’ve found carp to be so unpredictable, I’ve had numerous sessions with bites upon bites in the morning and nothing hours later!

Hey Frank, thank you mate! We were fishing down from the Adelaide Uni footbridge, however I have found there’s no particular spot for carp, they seem to be spread out quite evenly throughout the river.😃

@@TomsFishinAdventures Bit late but just to corroborate that, I myself fish night sessions literally across the street from Adelaide Oval, have caught some absolute Mud Pigs in there just like the stonkas you two were on in this vid. Great stuff, I’m going a little nutty now, carp have slowed right down with the temperature even in the Murray, bring back the warmer weather. TIGHT LINES!!!
