Every single person has a dream, a life they want to live, something they feel drawn to do in/with their life, even if they are not sure what it is. We were born with them, they are in our souls. Finding it is sometimes a task, but once you find it, don’t let anyone or anything discourage it/you. It may sometimes take years to find out what it is. It may take a journey of discovery, but it is yours, seek it, treasure it, value it, revere it, believe in it, trust in it, for it is a gift given to you and only you.
At times we doubt it, sometimes because of influences from the outside, I know this too, you are not alone in feeling this at times. I felt it recently, the discouragement. I woke up with it a few days ago. I tried to work on some music, but just wasn’t there inside. So I decided to take a day, and just relax with a movie. I was looking in my list for something uplifting, and because of my love for Ireland, which I have not got to go to in this lifetime, yet, I have quite a few Irish movies in my list. I stumbled across a movie I don’t even remember putting in there, titled “Finding You.” It was primarily filmed in Ireland, so I thought I would give it a try. I saw immediately it was fairly “B-grade,” but stuck with it. And let me just say it has now become one of my favorite movies, B-grade or not. It is a “romantic comedy,” and the story is wonderful, especially the underlying layers of the story. Between the scenery of the land I love so, and the music, I was drawn in. And I have no problem admitting that I shed quite a few tears, and had my breath taken away, throughout the movie, because of the music and scenery. My heart soared.
(Discouraged; having lost confidence or enthusiasm; disheartened).
When I had finished the movie, I wandered into my studio, and this piece of music started coming out of me. The movie had driven away the feelings of discouragement, and opened my heart right up to joy. Of course towards the end of the movie, the underlying layer of the story came to the surface, and that really drove the light into my heart. I won’t tell what it was exactly, in case you would happen to go watch the movie, don’t want to do a spoiler, but let’s just say this quote from Deuteronomy 31:8 in the movie played a part in finishing off driving the discouragement I had been feeling right out of my heart and soul.
“The Lord himself goes before you, and will be with you.
He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid; Do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
I must say here, I do not consider myself a “religious” person, but I am a spiritual person, and seek truth wherever it may show itself… even in a “B-grade” movie 😉
