Ownership in a DevOps and InnerSource environment - Tom Sadler (BBC)
Code ownership is not always well understood, and the effects of ownership change depending on team and organisation culture. Sometimes, ownership is seen as a bad thing, as it can discourage collaboration and InnerSource. At other times, ownership is considered key to success. This talks looks at the BBC’s TV Application teams' software ownership principles, the pros and cons of this approach, and what the next steps of the journey are.

Tom Sadler is a Principal Software Engineer at the BBC, working with a number of teams on open source and InnerSource, and a regular speaker on collaborative practices. He also serves on the InnerSource Commons board as Director and Secretary.
