i feel like the owner just said that to the cops to seem less guilty, they knew what they were doing was bad and the cops would be involved if caught. I don't think they were "trying to put it out of its misery" they didnt like the cat and didnt care if it suffered. hope karma gets them.

I can’t imagine how cruel someone must be to a cat to see a slow drowning with no way to escape as ‘putting him out of his misery’. What a pathetic excuse for a pet parent…

George was so special & Dr. Chris gave him so much love. I was hoping the episode I show Dr. Chris taking him home. But…..True to form, Dr. Chris adopted an orphaned fur baby kitty- Cricket. Very special episode….all of them are really. Blessings !!!!

George died in July 2012. The original episode that featured the almost drowning of George was aired Feb 2009, so he got 3 years of good life with Dr Chris. Love this story! When I first saw the clip I had to go see if google could tell me what became of him after we see him being handed over to the fosterer. Discovered that Chris adopted him in the end, loved that ending for him!

Like my dog. He had been really cruelly treated. Neighbours intervened and he was handed over to the authorities in Eire. The owners were prosecuted but I don't know what their sentence was. My dog carried the scars of his ill-treatment all his life - for some strange reason they cut off the pointy parts of his ears (German Shepherd) so he looked like a big teddybear - and that is exactly what he was, a good, gentle, loveable teddybear of a dog. I adopted him from a rescue when he was moved to the UK and I had him for 11 years until old-age and two major strokes got him. He was probably around 13/14 years old when he passed. It is over a year since I lost him and there isn't a day that goes by without me thinking of him. I miss him terribly even though I also have 10 cats - 8 of them are rescues too.

My calico was thrown into a dumpster right next to a vet’s office. The vet’s office took the person’s license plate and I believe reporter her. They then called the shelter they do a lot of work for. She was 4 months old. I adopted her after she had only been at the shelter for a week or two. She’s now 7 years old. She’s still referred to as “dumpster cat” at the vet’s office lol.

I have two dumped greek cat’s. Ok, one is missing a leg and the other one has ataxia, but They are perfect and So full of love and cuddles… wouldn’t wanna Miss them. If you can’t take care of your animal anylonger, their are other options than killing or dumping them.

@@Pythonaria I am amazed how these animals can go near another human after they are cruelly treated. German shepherd's are my favourite breed having had 2 beautiful loyal males. Great breed and so glad you adopted him but so hard when they pass. Thank you for your beautiful story

I was thinking the same thing. Even in CPR training you're taught to hold an infant with their head on a downward incline and pat their back to help clear the lungs but you never see a vet do it till now.

You do it for baby lambs to help them breathe etc

It did, this episode was from 2009, the cat died with the name George, adopted by Dr Chris, in 2012.

i think the fur type is called a rex? It looks similar at least when i compare them to rats with rex genes.

He is ALWAYS working as vet along with his other activities, how could you imagine that he would give up what for him is a mission not a job. He still works at Bondi Junction. He just renounced to continue with the program, that's all. He is too busy with his programs.

"Giving it a good death" by letting it drown and suffer while being petrified? How is that a good death? If one of my animals whether the horse or my cats gets too sick for treatment (due to age or other reasons) I will pay to have them put down quickly and humanely. Money isn't an issue. (Of course I'm not loaded but if my pets need to go to stop the suffering, then thats what has to happen)

@@Kat-mu8wq few days ago, there were 2 puppy tried to be rescued in the river. One was saved, unfortunately the other one washed away. Some people do dumped puppy in the bushes, river. Another friend of mine also found a puppy in the beach as well. Kitten was found i a plastic bag in bushes. Very heart broken nowdays in Bali 😢

@@Kat-mu8wq one hour ago, i just rescued stray male adult. A friend said looked like was poisoned. Vomiting with blood. I rushed to vet. Now get iv. Hope he'll make it. 1 week ago, poisoned as well already died. 😢

If it was the penguin, I think George was upset for two reasons: 1 Dr Chris was feeding the penguin fish but not giving any to George. 2 Elsewhere, Dr Chris had said that when he got home from work, he had to lie on the sofa and cuddle George for an hour or so. That obviously didn't happen when he took the penguin home so George was upset because he hadn't had his cuddle time.
