What's Gama Space all about? Gama Space is at the forefront of innovation, developing solar sails for satellites. This groundbreaking technology offers a novel propulsion method, propelling satellites and space exploration into new realms. Imagine a film thinner than a strand of hair, yet capable of navigating the vastness of space - that's the marvel of solar sails.
Challenges & Solutions: The journey isn't without its hurdles. From intricate thermal and mechanical modeling to meticulous organizational management across various prototypes and products, the team faces a spectrum of challenges. Yet, with the integration of Dassault Systèmes' Experience Platform, Catia, and other simulation tools, Gama has significantly enhanced its productivity. These tools have enabled rapid development cycles, leading to the successful launch of a satellite within an astounding two-year timeframe.
The CATIA Connection: Thomas's daily toolkit includes Part Design, Assembly Design, Generative Shape Design, and 3D Terrain Lensing, covering the entire product lifecycle from conception to manufacturing. For technical challenges, SIMULIA's suite has been instrumental in structural and thermal simulations across various environmental conditions.
