Heart transplant is a life-saving procedure that has significantly improved the survival and quality of life of children with end-stage heart failure. Innovations in heart transplant include the development of new technologies, such as ventricular assist devices, which can provide temporary support to a failing heart and improve the chances of a successful transplant. Additionally, advances in immunosuppressive medications have led to improved outcomes and reduced the risk of rejection. Other innovations in heart transplant include the use of donor hearts that were previously considered unsuitable for transplant, and the development of novel strategies for preventing and treating post-transplant complications.
