The equine veterinary landscape in Victoria has been further enhanced by an innovative asset already benefitting the state's youngest horses and stud farms - a foal ambulance.
"It's the same as an on-site surgical suite that they can move from farm to farm," explained Widden Victoria's Stud Manager Jason Robinson.
"We just tried to solve a problem that we saw existed and we muttered about with a few different ideas and in the end, we decided to have a go at making an ambulance," said The Victorian Equine Group's Dr Mike Whiteford.
"The procedures we generally do on site are elective procedures.
"It was a human ambulance back in the day, so essentially, we haven't had to do a whole heap."
