Inpainting (Affinity Photo)

Great. Is there a way to apply the "Free Hand Selection tool" and the "Edit => Inpaint" on another layer? The aim is to be non-destructive.

Actually what is the difference when it comes to the inpainting between version 1 and 2 of Affinity photo?

is there any difference /advantage between duplicating the original pixel layer and inpainting on that compared to inpainting on an empty layer as done here? Less memory? faster?

Thanks, I knew about the in-painting tool, but did not try the polygon selection tool underneath the freehand/lasso selection tool. Current layer and below was also useful. Very useful to know and should save me some time in the future.

I was tearing my hair out trying to do an inpaint using shapes or selections. What i didn't realise was that you have to physically rasterize the layer you are working on to prevent in inpaint option from being greyed out.

I have tried this technique in my pc and doesnt allowed me to use the impaint tool from the edit menu. Its blocked. What should I do ?

Video eine Katastrophe .... da nicht in Deutscher Sprache. Warum gibt es nicht mal einen Untertitel in mehreren Sprachen wählbar. Man zahlt Geld für Programme die man aber nicht einsetzen kann, da es keine Videos der jeweiligen Sprache zu Erklärung gibt. Hier geht es nicht un WhatsApp & Co. sondern um viele Euros und die sind einsetzbar da man es nicht versteht was gezeigt und in englisch erklärt wird. Traurig und mehr schade - dann sollte man das Geld komplett zurückzahlen. Bei mir über 400 EUR!
