Leandros been REAL quiet since Captain Titus dropped his new primaris track

My friends saw this ending and thought "The hell? After all that he gets detained?" I said "Welcome to Warhammer 40k, no good deed is rewarded in the grim darkness of the far future."

You can tell that the Ultramarines at the end are seriously pissed off with Leandros.

Mira has some balls of steel to be firmly disregarding an Inquisitor whilst he is within ear-shot.

"The codex astartes is a set of rules. They guide us, shape us as Ultramarines, teach us to hold duty and honor sacred above all. But how we live with those rules is the true test of a space marine. And you.... Have failed." Few Space Marine individuals I respect as much as Titus. Among them numbers only Gabriel Angelos, Sergeant Tarkus and perhaps one or two more. But even above them Titus just spoke how it should be. How Roboute Guilluman intended the Codex to be interpreted. Titus may not redeem the smugness of the Ultramarines in my eyes, but he's a damn fine site for setting them on the right path.

After the shuttle door is closed, Black Templars are, like, "Hey, bro, chill, it was just for the show. How many demons have you killed? How many orks? What, did you also punch a freaking daemon prince in the face to death? Brutal!"

Titus is probably going to be assigned to the Death Watch or even the Gray Knights after this incident. The Inquisition might be crazy, but they're not all idiots.

I'm going with the Blank theory. Blanks (not Pariahs) can go their entire lives without even knowing what they are because they have the recessive form of the gene. Inquisitors are known to go to great lengths to find Blanks and keep them nearby because of their resistance to psychic powers and the Warp. A Blank space marine captain would be an incredibly powerful asset.

Titus did not surredered for Ultramarines, he surrendered for the good guards of Lt. Mira. Ultramarines would never let any of their brothers be slaughtered by Inquisition just because they fought against Chaos Marines. But those guards, they would suffer indeed.

Imperial Guard: Alright, Inquisitor, if you have to investigate "Crimes" - I bring charges of insubordination, violation of regulations, possible cowardice before the enemy, violation of orders, and treason against the Lieutenant Leandros. Thrax: Seize him

“Only an agent of Chaos could survive such Warp exposure.” Meanwhile, Kaldor Draigo stomps through the Warp itself, slaying daemons left and right in the Emperor’s name.

What Titus says about the Codex is ultimately true. It was written as a standard set of guidelines for the Ultramarines by their Primarch and later after the Herrasy adapted by most chapters as they were founded predominantly from Ultramarine stock. Guilliman himself has stated that the codex cannot be taken as an absolute truth and has shown in the elaborate war games he held during the Herrasy that it can be wrong. For all the talk about Titus having fallen to chaos why does no one say that the Emperor was with him instead? Protecting him and guiding his fight against Chaos?

"From that point onward Leandros would take charge of the 2nd Company and would be known forever as Tito Sicarius" He also lost all his balls in the process which cause a change in vocal to sound like "Mechanicus with a stroke"

Honestly, I was hoping for the follow up games to this ... Titus comes back as an Inquisitor of sorts. (Because he deserves it) Sidonus comes back as a Dreadnought. (Because he should) Leandros comes back as a Servitor. (Because of Reasons)

Even Inquisitor Thrax looks so done with Leandros.

*Walking Tank falls over* Lady: "hmm maybe I should... well I could... " It's almost an instinctive action to help someone in need.

If any games in the franchise needs a sequel (aside DOW itself), it's the Space Marine. Such an awesome game and plot.

Just when you think the Imperium can be redeemed through folks like Titus and Salamanders-folks like Leandros show up and show why it’s collapsing.

Leandros actually didn’t follow the codex astartes in calling the inquisition on captain Titus. You’re supposed to tell the chaplain about marines that could be falling to the ruinous powers.

Had to come back to this ending and laugh at Leandro because holy shit was Calgar pissed about Leandro selling Titus to the inquisition like this.

I like how they still trust him enough to let him wield his gun.

I never liked Leandros... And this scene cemented my dislike for him. I know the UltraSmurfs are known for following the Codex to the letter, but Leandros seems to take it to the nth degree.

Funniest part of this is Inqusitor Thrax would himself fall to Chaos just a few years later

What confuses me is... Black Templars hate the Inquisition.

as much as this ending blows it is probably what would really happen

Why would Black Templars provide security for an inquisitor, or have anything to do with an inquisitor? In Dawn of War 1's campaign Captain Angelos tells Inquisitor Toth that no inquisitor has the authority to comandeer or command a space marine unit, so why would Black Templars be hanging with an inquisitor?

Well, it took ten years, but it seems they finally found the truth and released him.

*Disclaimer* I loved this game, from beginning to end, I am a fan. Now, that out of the way - this ending would NEVER happen - not in any 40k story I've ever read. First, Titus is a Captain, second only to the Chapter Master (who, admittedly in this game/version of 40k may not be Marneus, but let's assume he is), and answers to no one outside the chapter and Emperor. It's written that Space Marines are beholden to no one save the Emperor - even a standard Leandros-level marine can tell an Inquisitor to fuck himself and is above reproach. It might not be the wisest course of action, but there it is. Second, 'Investigated for signs of heresy'? What sort of bullshit is this? If a marine has proven resistant to the powers of Chaos or straight up immune to them, the librarius immediately begins testing him for signs of latent psychic ability. As Titus is a Captain, his entire company/battle company would be present for this fight - not that it's seen in game - but we'll assume they are so, knowing that, a librarian or two would be apart of that detachment - and would be able to speak on the matter. Not some superstitious, newly minted tactical marine. Third, It's common among the more free-thinking chapters to encourage outside-the-box thinking, like Titus does. The Ultramarines Primarch, Roboute Guilliman WROTE the Codex Astartes, they know it better than any (it's argued that the Imperial Fists are even more codex compliant, but that's an argument for later), and Titus uses it's teaching as guidelines - as he (paraphrased)does throughout his training of Leandros. The Codex Astartes says NOTHING about what Leandros mentions concerning corruption at the briefest touch of Chaos - how could it? In the Codex itself its described how a Librarius is to be staffed - all Space Marines who are warp-touched. This entire line of bullshit Leandros uses is contradicted by the very text he spouts is the reason for turning the Captain in. Fourth, just like in any military, or any establishment where there are two or more members, personalities clash and not everyone can agree. Marines are no different, but in the case of Leandros questioning almost every action the Captain makes...? Yeah that's crap. Had Leandros' character been founded in anything other than bullshit, none of this would have happened. A brother marine betrays the captain of your company, akin to some as a father and all as a fellow brother? There's ZERO chance Leandros isn't killed or excommunicated from the chapter for that - if not that, he's a black sheep for his entire life, what's left of it. I don't get why they did everything so well as far as lore goes with this game, the style of the weapons, combat, and over all feel of the game was spot on. Then they give you this stupid ass ending...it's like they had one set of writers for 99% of the game and the last 1% was written by someone's Eldar-fanboy offspring.

The Codex astartes is more of, guidelines than actual rules.

I was really bummed and thought we would never know about Titus' fate. And finally after so many years we are back baby. Ultramarines 2. I wonder if we see Leandros again

Titus is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters in the series. I like a person who chooses to not follow rules blindly, and istead, chooses to use them as guidelines, and to decided his own way of living by those rules. I'm very glad that he is back😊.

Glad he’s back in the next game. I remember seeing this when I was younger. After saving the planet, slaying orks and chaos alike, withstanding the power of it and for the will of the emperor, the inquisition is like “smells like heresy to me” :(

The fact that since those guardsman saw chaos means that all of them are going to be killed by the inquisition makes this far sadder.

No heroic celebration, no cheers, only get ratted by your own man because suspicion of chaos... this is 40k game

Just realised, Titus didn’t actually came out unscathed. He was hurt, the Inquisitor literally pointed this out.

Shame the series will never be continued, from what i've heard they planned to make this the first in a trilogy where Captain Titus does end up falling to chaos by the end

Leandros will end up as a Chaos Space Marine later down the line IMO. It's just a matter of time. When everything else fails, he will turn to Chaos to kill Titus. Remember. Word Bearers also had no equals in their zeal. Now look at them. The path from being a fanatic to being a heretic is extremely short.

Those are the quietest Black Templars I have ever seen.

You know what, at least Titus only got a demotion and wasn't executed or sent to Deathwatch.

Leandros is still skeptical on Titus' courage and abilities, probably he did became a Chaplain to serve penance while watching over Titus' every moment, even manipulating him.

i note the last bit of the note in the discription below the vid, not even leandros says anything about thrax not telling titus to disarm him self. maybe hes just to damned full of himself and the fact that he thinks titus has been corrupted to care...if there was a game that i wish had a sequel to it, almost purely for lore and to find out what happens to the characters after. its warhammer 40k space marine

Black Templars giving a crap about Codex Astartes violations or following the Inquisition is hilarious. Someone did not do their research. Either that or this happened before when Grimaldus discovered what the Inquisition did to their Lion brothers.

I like how as the doors close the only ultramarine who turns away is Leandros...the others know their brother is loyal.

What? Do they not know that the ultramarines are the greatest, and never fail? I'd suspect them of heresy if they failed.

Shouldn't Thrax be surrounded by Sisters of battle or Grey Knights instead of Black Templars?

Leandros is going to be in some deep trouble when he returns home. I mean, he sent one of his own battle brothers to the hands of Inquisition instead of reporting to his chapter, which is the expected course of action among space marines. As for Titus, he will be fine. Considering they let him go on board unrestrained and armed Thrax doesn't seem to consider him a danger. As for Mira, if she manages to survive the campaign and the inquisitor thinks Titus (And therefore, her) is non corrupted she has a bright future in the Imperial Guard. I mean, she and the soldiers under her command managed to hold the line even when they were expected to have fallen long ago.

With the announcement of Space Marine 2, I've been revisiting this gem. I may just play through the story again. It's probably the best representation of WH40K outside of OG RTS games. I had the biggest man-crush on Titus. So happy to see him with 200 more years of service under his belt. Just wish the original VA was coming back to reprise the role.

First, the chapelin is the one who is supposed to be warned in that kind of suspicion. Secondly : to use a psyker to find some traces would be extremely easy. In three : an imperial guard telling to a Space Marine to "ignore the inquisition" ? Are we supposed to laugh or cry ? Four : Titus is suspected because he RESISTED to warp influence ? In the better case, that's stupide, or he is simply a Pariahs and it's a good thing, though Imperium uses them like any other weapons that counter warp effects.

Really funny and ironic they chose to use Black Templars as the Inquisitor’s personal escort considering how much the Black Templars hate the Inquisition. I’d have personally gone with a Red Hunters entourage.

I like how they arrest Titus on suspicion of corruption by Chaos... but they let him keep his gun.

Interestingly, Roboute Guilliman, who wrote the codex, would side with Titus and would find Leandros' inflexibility to be a liability.

The first of two Ultramarines that I respect. Great story telling. Amazing atmosphere. Fantastic game.

From what I have heard, the Ultramarines follow the Codex Astartes to the letter without exception, whether a marine is in battle or "on leave". Based off of what Titus said to Leandros about the Codex, it would seem to me that Leandros is a typical Ultramarine while Titus is not(his Warp resistance is not what I'm talking about). I have no idea what the Codex says, but even if Titus wasn't brought in by the Inquisition, wouldn't he be punished in some way for his behavior on the battlefield? Hopefully someone will clear this up for me, because how the Ultramarines are described, Titus either doesn't act like one or is one of the most interesting Ultramarines ever along with Sidonus.

It's incredible to see that despite all of the atrocities and horrors Captain Titus has witnessed in over one hundred and fifty years of service, he remains such a patient, thoughtful, and considerate man. God Emperor bless him, he is a rarity in such bleak times.
