Hiking to Sawtooth Lake is some of the most underrated alpine trekking we have experienced. Its a mountain range you just don't hear about to often. Located in Idaho where we have been living in or truck camper for a few weeks now. We were surprised to see it packed. After that hike we were starving and in so much pain. So we head into Stanley for dinner at The Stanley Supper Club.

48 degrees! That is somethin! Y'all really brought out my jealousy with this one! What a fabulous hike! Idaho is beautiful and I am loving this area, too (as a tag-along😕)! Wow is so right! Spectacular lake and mountains! Western Idaho was our point of entry to visit Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Now we have a better idea of what other areas of Idaho have to offer.

Idaho is such an amazing place to visit and live, I'm sure. My late husband was from Moscow, ID and that college town has an interesting story in itself. Coeur d'Alene will always be my favorite ID town! Lots of good memories there with friends.

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing this gorgeous hike and lake! I'm just sick that I missed the Sawtooth portion of my trip. Thankfully for you, you hit it at the right time. The weather in the Rockies cools off mid-August. Deep blue lakes and picas are the bonus for a hike like that. So glad you are enjoying the Sawtooths. Just got home and I may have to get back up there!

Stanley is a town in the Sawtooth Valley in Custer County, Idaho, United States. The population was 63 at the 2010 census; down from 100 in 2000. The center of population of Idaho in 2000 was located in Stanley.

Wow! You two really pushed yourselves and we appreciate your efforts. Cody, your pain brought back memories of my hikes and backpacking trips that caused me to experience serious pain. I would take three Ibuprofen and in half an hour my pain would be a slight discomfort...worked everything. Those pikas are the cutest little animals. I loved the hikes in the Sawtooth mountain range. We kayaked a few of the waterways there.

So glad to see you guys enjoying my backyard. Born and raised in Idaho, spent many of my summers growing up in the Stanley/Sawtooth area. I have watched the town grow from literally just a couple of buildings at the fork in the highway to the major tourist attraction it is now. I still live in Boise where I grew up and I spend as much time around Stanley as I can.
