During Bomber Task Force 23-5, B-1B Lancers 86-0107 and 86-0117 depart from RAF Fairford in the daylight as HOWLER41 and 42. These jets returned after dark on the same day.
Then the epic night launches. There is nothing like a B-1 night launch! HOWLER61 (86-0119) and HOWLER62 departed at around 7:30pm. HOWLER61 (the first night launch) flew a 25 hour mission before returning to RAF Fairford at 8:20pm the day after. Absolutely incredible. What a stunning jet.

Very nice night launches 👀so cool. Odd how one did a 25 hour flight and the other 3 hours, I suspect a gremlin!

Thanks Saint. Yes it seemed odd that 62 returned so early. It was great to be down at 09 for the overhead though. B-1s really are an assault on the senses! 😲
