This forced checkmate is one of the most beautiful chess combinations you will ever see! Don't miss this spectacular finish played in Corrales vs. Ferragut, Cuba 2004!

Sac a rook, then a queen, 10 moves later see a knight sacrifice? How do people calculate these?

It baffles me too. How could someone calculate all those variations before making the queen sacrifice

I solved it in my head, helped by knowing that every move would have to be a check (Otherwise Black would just take over.) When every move must be a check, always consider every move that's possible, no matter how ridiculous/useless it may look initially.

3:12 Kh7 Rh4+ after f5+ king can go to g7, so it’s not an immediate mate, but there is Bh6+ Kh7 or Kh8 and Bf8#

I'm following you since you had some 4-5 k subscribers. I love your explanation. You should be at the top of youtube. I hope one day you will reach there. Love from India.

(Would you mind posting the full game up to this point? It's puzzling what Black's last move must have been to set up this position since he chose not to capture the N on d5)
