I always feel like I could do a little more on my end which would and does make a big impact on that end. As a world traveler I feel the least I can do is help to offset the balance of things, tip really well, pay what they are asking , respect the culture and religion and leave the place a little better off. I am not wealthy but I do know that I was born into a country with a very privileged life. If I as a global citizen can do more to help others all the way across the world I will. $50 to me is not a big deal. $50 to someone in Thailand is food for a month. That’s all. My point is these people , anyone from this area not just the watch shop struggle and can use all the help they can get . So if you can pay full price or close to what they are asking and not come back with a haircut of an offer, you should do it. Same crap as selling on Craigslist or Poshmark everyone wants to give you nothing for your stuff. You do you, I will do me. I can feel good about not always trying to get the better of people.
