So funny to see my country through your eyes. I highly recommend to see the castle from inside. It tells you things about König Ludwig II. that you wouldn’t understand otherwise. Even better from the inside is his Castle Linderhof which is not far from Castle Neuschwanstein. But it’s more difficult to get there. Castle Linderhof is actually the the only castle where Ludwig lived in in his short lifetime. And you get a guided tour which is very informative about King Ludwig and Gerrman history of this time. Thanks a lot for visiting Germany and spreading your positive view all over the world. I appreciate people who tidy up with all them myths about Germany. 😍 Happy travels 😍

Neuschwanstein was one of my bucket list places, I went three years ago, it’s fantastic! A dream place, I stayed there in Füssen, really nice place to stay. Thanks guys for sharing, I loved the drone images! By the way, I live in Italy, close to Como on lake Maggiore, if you ever come back come to see where I live, it’s a beautiful place too!

Neuschwanstein Castle is indeed INSANELY GORGEOUS. I LOVEEEDDDDDD It there, i was there last winter too and it was so magical! The inside of the castle is CRAZY Impressive! Although lines to go in are kinda long.

+Carina Chung yes lines are long. You can buy your tickets on the internet in adavance, so you do not have to queue.... VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE!...plus I would take the horse--carriage up the hill. It is not expensive and fun!

My tour to Neuthwanstein Castle was the highlight if my first Euro trip! It is insanely beautiful in Bavaria! Too bad i came in on the first day of winter. It is kinda foggy but still beautiful! Btw, i really love ur vdrone shot of the castle! I am very jealous! Great job guys!

Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau were easily my favorite parts of our 5 week trip through Europe last summer. I wish you guys went in, you would have LOVED it! It is so incredibly breathtaking!

Sometimes you guys drive me nuts! You spent good money on the train to get here, even if it was already prepaid and then you get there and you don't go inside. You guys seem to do this over and over again . . . :/ You've been in Europe for a long time and haven't gone in one castle yet.

It costs money to get inside these places right? Can you imagine they paid that amount for every "attraction" they had gone to back when this was filmed..they'd quickly go broke.

The drone footage is beautiful! When I was here in May it was the rainiest day ever so it was lovely to watch. Good call on not going inside- you didn't miss much Ever get nervous when you're flying the drone? It goes so high, I would be so worried that it would suddenly lose power or drop!!

Found you through Fun for louis and I've been enjoying your vlogs very much and just have to subscribe! currently on binge watching your europe trip because I am getting excited to go back there again in 3 weeks time. totally got the chills watching u guys going to the places ive been! By the way, there was another good place where you can take good pictures of that castle because there's a bridge that is across the castle where u can take the pictures. and yes the others were right u definitely have to go back n see the inside of the castle! (though i have to tell u not all of the rooms can be viewed as the king passed away before the castle was fully finished) i went in 2014 in march and the queue wasn't that long u just have to check the timing for the English tour. You could also take a bus from the bottom to the castle and then walk back down.

awww thts a bummer then. nevermind it is definitely a good reason to go back to europe then! ;). i keep going back to europe cos there are just so many incredible things to see. I was only in europe in november n now going back again just cant get enough of europe! :D both of u should definitely visit sicily! it is very cheap there especially the food and plus the view is amazing. i stayed in mondello and really loved it there and there is a historic town called Erice located on the top of Mt Erice and I think Jess would love it there :).

Arrrgh! You did not go in?!!! The castle lacks the grand splendour of some other palaces and was not lived in very much so may seem a bit sterile and a let down to some people BUT it is still amazing. The carved bed, the grotto, the wall art/frescos of German Mytholoy, the view of the waterfall out of the throne room and the throne room itself all amazing- you did yourselves a disservice. Considering what generally passes as a historic tourist attraction in Aus it would have been worth it- even if you couldn’t film. Btw I’m Aussie of German descent.

Great video! I had such a struggle getting to the castle! I was alone, though, and second guessed myself a lot. So maybe it actually wasn't as bad as I remembered? I'm happy you were able to experience it! Also, your breakfast looks delicious. :)

Looking at the courtyard, I'm pretty sure it was used as a location for the classic movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang starring Dick Van Dyke.

It is a Disney castle. It was built in the latter half of the 19th century, well beyond the castle building era in Germany or elsewhere. It was largely designed as a playhouse for the Prince and his 'friend' composer Richard Wagner. Building it consumed much of the principality's income which led to a lot of resentment, and much of the interior is unfinished, I suspect due to these money problems. While the Prince did live there it was not typical as there was no long there many generational royal residence here. In the consolidation of Germany during this period the Prince lost favor and spent his latter years dealing with insanity. I believe that much of the construction is iron and concrete, not commonly used in building castles, and I believe it has central heat, also very uncommon in castles. It does look very good in pictures, but so does the Disney castles.

Did you guys realise that Hohenschwanguau castle, the orange looking castle is King Ludwigs childhood castle and he loved the area so much that he wanted to build another castle in the area and that was Neuschwanstein castle? They are straight across from each other. Also, to get inside the castle, you need to get tickets.

Neuschwanstein may be pretty spectacular, but it's rather phoney, too. The construction of this castle started in 1869 and was finished in 1892, at a time when the first skyscrapers were being built in the US. Its the architectural dream of a rather excentrical, if not half crazy king with limited political power who sought comfort in illusions of former royal glory.

My first trip to Germany was when I was 25, and my Eurail pass was for 1st klasse, when you’re over 25 you are supposed to be in 1st klaase, but I preferred to ride in coach, meet more people

hahaha u missed going inside , the most amazing castle u failed hard this time, there´s a elevator from the kitchen to the dinner room for the whole table , the bed is the most amazing peace of woodart i´ve ever seen , and the castle was connected to a fresh water dwell in the mountains so it had flowing water in the bath..

Neuschwanstein is actually not a Castle but a Schloss. The German word for castle is Burg. Burgen (plural) have been build for defense, while Schlösser have been the homesteads of Kings and Lords. Knights used to live in Burgen. Burgen have massive strong walls and towers and small windows. The word Schloss is maybe best translated as palace.

Thanks a lot for you answer of geat help. I lived in "fort area" 75 km south away from Tokyo. This fort was built in !4th century and experienced two intensive seige. The last seige was brought by Lord Uesugi with 20000 strong in last 15th century. I could find a copper coin made in China of Ming dynasty and a fragment of Jomon pottery 3000 years ago in my garden.

Try to say "Noy Shvahn Shtine" for "Neuschwanstein". That would sound halfway correkt and may work. It actually means "New Swan Stone/Rock", but you "pronounced" it in a way that would translate to something like "New Pig Service" or "New Piggy". Didn't get it precisely. XD By the way of course it resembles the Disney Castle, as Neuschwanstein served as the main model for it.

Whoever told you it isn't much inside was so wrong! Why did you believe them? It's full of incredible mosaics, paintings, elaborate woodcarving, and a Byzantine throne room. It's true that much of the interior was left unfinished but the finished parts are amazing. To have come all the way from Australia and not look inside for yourselves doesn't make much sense to me. Still, I love your videos in general.

So you sleep in first class accommodations, but won't pay 12 euro's to enter the castle? Guessing mum and dad are paying the visa bills for accommodations ... So sad...

You also can’t film inside mate, if they catch you it’s government property and they can confiscate any camera or phone you’re recording with. Since you pay to be inside, you have to follow the terms and rules. They probably went inside but no footage was created due to this rule

@@jnproductions5116 You can get away with pictures really depends on the day and how you go about it. I was just there 2 years ago I took a few pictures. There were also 2 seperate people in the group who had pretty noticeable actual cameras taking pictures/videos and as far I could tell they didn't have any sort of journalist/media badges but they could have potentially had special permission already set up.

Please come to Indian state of Rajasthan and see Kumbhalgarh Fort. It surrounded by Aravalli Mountains. 100 times bigger and better than this one of course.
