In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. Baalor, I know in the grand scheme of things, spire is temporary; I know that one day you will move on, as we all will. These moments in which you still play, however, are absolutely amazing. @@joshwhalen17I am confused why people think there will be a spire two when the game is finished and the devs are already working on a different project. Is it just optimistic hope? They also said they will not create a fifth character I believe, if you were hoping for that added content. Lots of mods tho on PC

A curious interaction, Baalor, when finishing your turn on @ 1:09:44 ---> Feel no Pain activates at the end of your turn, you gain the block in the middle of the transition between turns and only then Juggernaut activates, damaging the Jaw-worm for 7. Notices how its healthbar goes down to 38 instead of 40, as its block disappears at the start of its turn. I'm pretty sure it's a known interaction regarding fast mode, but wanted to write it here just in case.

White beast statue really carried this ramshackle run untul you get that dark embrace. One of the best relic in the game, and probably my favorite (yes I suck at this game I need all help I can get).

Dude corruption is my absolute favorite card in sts…. Watcher is my favorite character but man I love corruption. It’s the best designed card in sts for sure. It’s so fun to use.

it's so reassuring to hear you say it's reasonable to take damage from an elite act 1. it's so easy to feel discouraged when they take a big bite out of me but I have to remember they're ELITES. you're gonna take some damage

rate the poem😂 I dont care what kind of regrets i make that will leave me in agony and pain i will always be there to shrug her problems off her shoulders, cause she deserve the best of this ugly world. She inflames my soul while she barricades herself in her own mind, scared to feel or to love and im the one that broke that shield and showed her my world. I feel impervious when she is there by my side, but the loop of this world never ends, and her strenght is a melter to my mind. She just amplifyes everything good about me. I just hope that we wont be a lost cause in the future that we program.

Membership + courier = 2.5x The money To make easier to remember just think (the actual cost) 40% x 2.5 = 100% (the total)

1:04:00 ish time - repto fight showing how clutch juggernaut and ink bottle were, since they were what kept Baalor afloat and keep doing damage while doing his best to preserve his health. I too am surprised this deck somehow succeeded (given it’s not low budget spire 😅)

Because flooding the deck with 2-energy cost cards risks them competing for your energy and your hand size, which is less than ideal.

Often times, losses like that are just not particulary interesting to watch. This one if I remember right died pretty early in act 1 for example.

Around 59:30, why not go Dual Wield and Rage for the Flash of Steel infinite? Or even just Rage for Finesse+Flash infinite? You're looking for a win condition/Heart solution, its infinite damage and armor (and armor deals damage, so its not even that slow). Its cheap (gold-wise). And with 24 cards, 10 of which remove themselves + 2 True Grits, your deck is already half tuned toward exhausting until nothing's left.

Does anyone know how you can mentally calculate the likelihood of getting a potion after every floor? How does that work?

You start with 40% potion chance - 4/10. Every combat you don't get one it goes up 10%, every combat you get one it goes down 10%. So after one combat with no potion drop it's 50% or 5/10. Potion chance resets each act, so at the start of act 2 and 3, you're back to 40% regardless of what it was before.
