Haha thanks very much. Lockdown certainly helped up my build hours. I'm very worried about the dust. I've got quite a bit of work to do up there to make it ship shape.
7:02 my return to moddeling started when wife presented me that Revell's Tornado (ones we were in hardware store and I said that acetone reminds me of childhood cause smells like model glue). I was amased how kits detailing and overall quality improved compared to good old FROG. Than I was like "well there must be some pair counterpart to Tornado... Su-24 will do..." And than another and another kit... cold war.. ww2 east and west front... pacific theater... She didn't new that she opened pandora box! x)))
Hahaha. I started with WW2 and just like you described it was like "ooo maybe a cold War pairing of a Mig 15 and Sabre...ooo and I've always loved the Vulcan...OMG Airfix have now released the Valient now I can get all 3 V Bombers etc etc" My girlfriend is an avid reader so she reads while I build. Our hobbies sync quite nicely 😁👍🏻
@@The_Male_Modeller nice collection...i know its a small air arm and as a result often gets over looked in the model scene but have you got any models of aircraft from the IRISH Air Corps.
@@jaws666 thank you! I haven't yet. Though I did see a Spitfire in one of my reference books that looked really cool! I've been to the Emerald Isle now 3 times and have loved it btw 😀👍🏻
@@The_Male_Modeller thanks..next time you are here you should vist eiither the 'solders and chiefs" exhibition at the national mueseam of Irland (formally Collins army barricks in Dublin) as they have a Miles maguster and a De Haviland Vampire T-11 / T-55 suspended from the ceiling and you should also vist the Irish Air Corps museam ar Casement Aerodrome,Baldonnel.
Thank you. Yeah The V1 and Launch ramp was a great set from model collect. You get two ramps and 2 V1s in the box. I've also got Revell's V2 in the stash to build!
I really liked the discs for spinnign props - nice touch. Im in the process of starting my collection and am trying to plan how to store them with minimal dust etc. Considering glass cabinets.
Wow! Amazing! You could start a history museum all by yourself! I've only got back into the hobby after a 50-year gap, so I'll have lots of catching up to do! These modern kits are amazing, aren't they? A far cry from the old kits of the '70s I used to build as a kid. I spotted an old Hudson bomber there on your shelf and managed to find a '70s Airfix kit. Working on that at the moment, oh the memories!
Haha that's not a bad idea! I'm stunned at the evolution of kits these days. It's costing me a fortune. Just when I think "Ah I've got one of those" Eduard or Arma Hobby will bring out a brilliantly new tooled version! It's funny you mention the Hudson because it's one that I'd like to re-do! I've just finished a Vintage Classic Bulldog from Airfix and I really enjoyed it. A bit of nostalgia, brand new cartograph decals and a fabric covered aircraft which gets away with the old tooling process!
@@The_Male_Modeller I know what you mean. With my Hudson, I've been creating greebles from the sprues of the kit itself. Little things like dials, piping, radio boxes, that sort of thing. Waste nothing, use, everything! This old 70's Hudson badly needed some extra detail as its cockpit was so spartan. If Airfix were looking to redo one of their old kits, I would love it if they considered the Hudson for an update like they did with, say, the Heinkel He111. I built the '70s version of that German bomber back in the day, but I've seen the new kit for it. It's on a totally different level to the old one.
woahh, cool collection, nice to see the diecast collection neatly arranged. good job mate, greetings from fellow Indonesian military diecast collectors
easily my favorite 1/72 collection I've seen on RU-vid. Love the prop planes of WW2. I've got a few diecast planes which I'll film eventually, but I only have 10 at the moment
First time seeing this 16 April 2022.. Nice little COLLECTION… My area I work and displays are in my basement… MODEL CAVE I call it… …. NICE COLLECTION CHRIS from OHIO
Your wife must be very understanding, she would never see you. Great collection. I can tell which aircraft is your favourite. It happens to be mine as well
It is an amazing collection...it makes me want to start a similar one as well...only f I had the space and time...and of course...money 😅😅Your Formula 1 collection is also very very impressive..I intend to do a similar wall, but with cars from Le Mans. Your man cave is absolutely fantastic. Congrats
Thanks! I have indeed. Interestingly I'm slowly replacing a lot of them with newer better versions of the kit. Particularly now that my modelling skill has improved too.
That is a great collection! Love the way you have used the attic framing for display shelves. It must not get to hot in the summer there. Those would be puddles of melted plastic here in Ohio! Thank you for sharing! Very enjoyable!
Thank you! It's funny, I'd love to do some larger scales but, as you say, it would bug me if they weren't the same scale. I chose a while ago because 1/72 because of the overall size, cost and variety. One day I may branch into some different scales, I mean I do have Airfix's 1/24 Spitfire in the stash.
Wow what a beautiful collection. Do you think like I do. I have models representing all countries of World War II. And they are all 1/72 scale which is my favorite. But your collection is way surpassing mine.👍
Thanks so much! Yeah I started with WW2 and gradually have expanded that over time. It doesn't help that some aircraft look awesome in different colour schemes and model manufacturers keep bringing out better tooled versions of kits haha. I would love to do a WW2 fighter collection in 1/48th one day but 1/72 enables me to get some of the larger aircraft like the B52 and A400M!
Wow, that is a lot of clutter, but the models are awesome! It looks like your up in the attic of the home. How do you keep it cool so that the models don't over heat and melt? I had mine in the Attic for some time after my divorce and I am now finding that some of the kits have melted or distorted. Need to do a diorama with a Ukrainian tractor hauling away a Russian tank!
YES! I notice a lot of Ukrainian decals are being bought since putin invaded. Now someone will make up some Z decals for the destroyed tanks...burned on the edges...
Haha, well; Until now, no, it hadn't been pointed out. I notice it every time I re-watch the video though. A Freudian slip that I can't edit out 🤦♂️😂 Good spot though. You are the first to call it out! 😁👍🏻
.. Nice collection(s)!!. R they left out like that all the time? Be aware of mice and even squirrels getting in there and wreaking havoc. You should open to the public and charge a entrance fee!
I have 2 incomplete Avengers. An Academy one and a classic Airfix one. I also have 2 'Whimpy's'. One of my future videos is going to be updating the older one and refreshing it to a lovely Coastal Command one 😁👍🏻
Probably a total of 15 years worth of builds. Please bear in mind that with all the Covid lock downs in the UK I was able to grow my collection quite quickly haha
AS A CHINESE, MY AIRCRAFT COLLECTION IS MAINLY THE CHINESE AIRCRAFTS. THE AIRCRAFTS OF THE CHINESE NATIONALIST AIR FORCE DURING WW2 AND IN TAIWAN AFTER WW2. I ALSO HAVE THE AIRCRAFTS OF THE CHINESE PLAAF AFTER WW2
I HAVE CHINESE NATIONALIST AIR FORCE: P-40E, P-51D, Hs-123, F-86F, F-5E, F-16A, CH-47D, UH-1 CHINESE PLAAF: P-51K, MIG-15, MIG-17, MIG-21, J-10A, UH-60
I'd love to do 1/48th but could you imagine this collection in that scale? The B-52 and the A400M would be HUGE...not to mention expensive. 1 day I might reduce the collection and do some 1/48th scale stuff. I've got the 1/24 Spitfire Mk.IX in the stash to build 😀
