Dalsnibba is an observation deck at an altitude of 1476 meters. And it is located on a sheer cliff above the abyss. From here a majestic panorama of the fjord and mountains covered with snow opens up. And even in June, winter still reigns around, although summer has already come below.
On a toll road - a serpentine, with tall snowdrifts along the edges, Dalsnibba can be reached by car. And admire the highest fjord view in Europe from the road.
The mighty and beautiful Geiranger Fjord and the huge cruise ship in its Geiranger port seem like toys from such a height. As if you are looking at their reduced copy in a miniature museum.
All 25 kilometers of winding serpentines from Dalsnibba to Geiranger are perfectly visible from above. And you can see how, with a change in altitude, winter turns into spring, and spring into summer.
The strongest cold wind blows on Dalsnibba, just pay attention to the flag on the observation deck, which develops upwards, trying to break loose and fly away.
Despite the observation deck being located on a high mountain, the parking lot here is large and there is enough space for everyone and cars, and even large tourist buses. Also upstairs there is a cozy cafe, gift shop, and toilets.
We visited Dalsnibba at the beginning of June and got very cold despite warm clothes! So dress even warmer than us - take hats and scarves! And if you plan to take something off, then also gloves! (Advice from Olga! :)
Going down - we planned to return here in August when the snow on the peaks melts and the short Norwegian summer finally gets to a height of 1500 meters!
