This tech gives off similar energy to sliding f-tilts in Ultimate (for the input feeling). Super easy to do and a lot of fun cus I get to mash more lol.

I love that this isn't just tech that gives you extra options in exchange for a higher execution barrier with no reason not to do it, theres a trade-off as you deplete your dodge invuln meter to do this. You're getting more aggressive offensive, but in order to do so you have to deplete your defensive resources which can really screw you over if you do this mindlessly and get put on the defensive. And if this does get too overcentralizing, the devs could also make it so if your dodge bar is empty, you can't cancel into attacks from dodge, thus tying your ability to do this to a limited resource without removing the tech entirely.

I really hope the devs don’t patch out stuff like this and even add more things like this. The more tech and mechanics that reward skill and practice the better

idk if im the only one, but i have no idea how to get his to come out, could you maybe do a very short more in depth guide on the specific inputs you have to do with your hands?

Also you don't have to do this on the ground. You can do a lot of stuff in the air with the same inputs using a double jump

it's very hard to do this to real people, I still learning this dodge cancel tec u also gotta watch your blue bar as u can see it goes down real fast

Do you use your joystick for attacks or do you use arrows?

How do I do it do I dodge up or down when do I jump when do I press my attack?

Doesnt seem like this works any more. Does seem like they removed some of the delay though after down attacking.

so would you have to remap your buttons for this? Cause it feels really awkward to jump with X, down aerial with down+square, then somehow manage to quickly press circle to dodge and do that all over again

This is really good tech, but this is the alpha, so it’s probably gonna get patched out if the devs don’t wanna have that sorta tech

its an animation cancel, the same principle is in play for wavedashes
