I returned mine, i find the bass quite sloppy compared to the variations, there's a bit too much lower mids for me, and the detail and soundstage bstill doesn't get close to my LCDi4s, at $800 it's a bit of a hard sell personally especially with the typical moondrop QC, female vocal is pretty smooth but that's about it. But of course with in ear different strokes for different folks, always good to find a pair that's perfect for you

kinda tempted to get this for myself for personal use and review but after knowing that this uses hollow resin / thin plastic, it made me hesitant on pulling the trigger😅

i don’t know if they fixed it or it was user error but when i pulled out the cable i made sure to carefully do it and it seems like tolerances are good and it was easy enough to pull out

Hey I've been considering your recommendations. I bought the fiio ka11 dongle you recommended because it was so powerful but the connection would drop out all the time so I went back to my thx onyx. My phone is an S24 Ultra, I don't know if that's the issue. Anyways what phone are you using this dongle with and how many mw at 32 ohm you think it puts out? Cause it would use it with my he1000 stealth too. Also your praise of the fostex th808 got me looking at those and considering the th909 since it might be better. Which one would you rather have, the fostex or the dark Sabre? My current iem is the Mangrid Xenns Top and I like it alot.

i’m using the iphone 15 pro the dongle puts out 160 mw in balanced. Personally think the th808 is basically the cheaper th909 so probably don’t need to get the th909. I would rather have the dark saber, obviously iem don’t have the same soundstage as headphones but dark saber is detail and tuning keeps on impressing me

@ryanhostudio I would be using the regular 3.5 jack. The more I read about it the more I think the dark sabre would be too big for my ears. I'll keep an eye out for more of your videos for my next purchase.

Try the Fosi Audio DS1. Solid, all metal construction. Plenty of power and built like a tank. 3.5mm and 4.4mm jacks, very neutral sounding. Does not color the sound.

what can u say compare with fiio fa19 or monarch mk3 for pc gaming or this one?

i’ve tried the monarch mk3 at an audio show it was quite good and fun sounding, so it’s a good choice

I’m a little disappointed with Hidizs S8 Pro Robin DAC. Its sound quality is OK, but disappointed with the plasticky, cheap build quality. For not a whole lot more, I’d recommend the Fosi Audio DS1. Solid, all metal construction, very neutral sounding DAC. Sorry, not to be off topic, but I know you reviewed the S8 Pro and saw it in the thumbnail here. I just think you can do better for the money although I do enjoy Hidizs IEMs. The MS2 Mermaid is one I enjoy a lot and one of the best in my opinion under $100.00.
