The "Morning Bite" is a real thing! #salmonfishing #riverfishing was off to a great start, hooking many fish within the first hour of light. Between my trusty #okuma rod, some home made Shure-Cure salmon eggs and the right place at the right time, we got to get our rods bent a few times and were able to enjoy yet another "AA Meeting".
I am glad you found my video. If you like my video, check out my channel and consider subscribing to the channel. I have many more fishing adventures and I try to mix in a few helpful salmon fishing tips on how to and good suggestions from years of fishing and figuring things out over my many trips.
Here @AutomagicAdventures we are always welcoming any positive and genuine comments or questions. If you watch carefully I put out a few Easter Eggs that win you free stuff if you pay attention.

Just before getting to the fishing hole, we found a herd of Elk that hadn't gone to bed yet. Low light video but there were 1-2 dozen in the field.salmon fishingriver fishingokumatrolling for salmonline counter reelscoho rodeoaddicted fishing

I have extremely high sucess with 1/0 gammy with crimped barbs but running a simulated fake egg cluster. I run 2/0 for roe but do not use bags but it's been years since ive had to. I dream of locations like what you have with a full bobber drift when im closer to the ocean. Inland we see 10' to 50 foot deep slow moving river sections and smaller fish.

Totally great comment! I dream of finding sections of river that nobody knows about. It never happens, so I just allow myself the delusion that I’m the only one that ever found that spot, lol. Thank you so much for watching. I would love it if you would share some of my stuff.

@@AutomagicFishing of course man. Awesome video. Unfortunately I live in Northern Cal and all I can do this year is watch other people catching kings. salmon fishing is a no go in this crap hole. And unfortunately work isn’t allowing any time for me to travel north and fish some of those rivers up your way. Anyway thank you sir. Have a great day

You are welcome Bubba Part of my motivation of making this channel is to give viewers something fun to watch when they can’t go out and get their own adventure. I got to experience that a few years ago when I had knee replacement. Watching RU-vid helped my sanity

Watch my videos, and you will feel like you’re there. I know when I had my knee replaced. It was a huge bummer and I had to sit around the couch and watch other people on RU-vid. Thank you for watching my videos!

Reel down to the bobber on a bobber down, don’t do a traditional pull back set the hook. You’ll get a higher hookup ratio success.
@AutomagicFishing
@AutomagicFishing 11 месяцев назад
@fishmojo865 I’ll keep that in mind. I’m wondering if it still works if when I’m thumbing my gear down river. 80% of my takedowns are below me so I’ve clicked open my line spool. Sometimes the extra second misses fish

Brian, what is the rod length and line weight suggested for the rod, and what is your line weight you are using.

My bobber rod I fished was a 10’6” okuma Guide select pro 15-30# I usually run 65# power-Pro

I have extremally high hook up too land ratio with Gami 4/0 or 5/0 big river hooks, when bobber goes down just lift into the fish. Gets onto the corner or top of the mouth and rarely comes off. Greetings from Portland

Excellent feedback!! I was checking out the Bigriver style hook but haven’t tried them yet. I use a 4/0 octopus now. Might go down one to a 3/0

@@AutomagicFishing It took me awhile to make the switch but once I did there is no Looking Back! 3/0 big river in clearer water, smaller baits. 5/0 in higher conditions

Hey Brien, What do you mean by "bright"?
@AutomagicFishing
@AutomagicFishing 11 месяцев назад
Hi Michele! Fish come into the river system as bright as a dime! Over time in freshwater they get darker as they deteriorate. Lots of people don’t retain really dark salmon that look like boot leather. The meat starts to pail in color as well.

I'm new to river fishing but I got some eggs from some columbia river salmon so I figured I'm going to use em this year. The toughest part is finding a spot and being confident to fish it through. Looks like you have yourself a nice spot!
@AutomagicFishing

It’s nice to have spots that you can go to before light. That way you can get there at the first bite. Unfortunately, it’s taken me years of exploring different pieces of the river and seeing a spot of water and then looking for the nearest place to pull off the highway. my best recommendation is exactly what people told me when I started. Look for cars parked about 8 o’clock in the morning and go down and check it out.
