Students learn about the anatomy of an insect, create an insect of their own, as well as learn about the author and illustrator Eric Carle. His books, "The Very Quiet Cricket", "The Grouchy Ladybug", The Very Lonely Firelfly" and "The Hungry Caterpillar" are excellent resources for this elementary art lesson. Plus, there is plenty of room for creativity!
