Mercado de San Juan is the most exotic and oldest traditional market in the historic center of Mexico City. It’s the city’s only market specializing in gourmet and exotic foods - anything that comes to your imagination. They sell ostrich, crocodile, iguana, deer, armadillo, lion, rabbit, and all types of skinned animals. In the creepy crawlies section, they sell dried insects, such as grasshoppers, scorpions, crickets, tarantulas, and cockroaches. Their Madagascar cockroaches were HUGE! The San Juan Market is definitely a place you should visit during a trip to CDMX (no pressure on eating a cockroach tho) 🤪
