What water temperature is the best for redfish and trout? What temperatures makes the snook bite? When do they spawn? When should you fish for king mackerel or tarpon? Water temperatures affects a lot of things when it comes to inshore fishing, and fishing in general. Understanding fish activity / behavior is critical, and knowing how the water temperatures affect each species is something every angler should learn.

Awesome info capt! Kinda hit home talking about kings for this past weekend! Went out on a charter out of Madeira, and was informed their was a kingfish tournament while we was out. Listening to captains talk back and forth on the radio about what they were experiencing, their was a 2° water temp drop from 74° to 72°! Sounds like they were blaming the slow bite on that! But we did come home with one 16ish pounder! Good day for us right spot right time!!

Trout are REALLY interesting, in College, we put a bunch of brook trout in saltwater, over 90% of them survived, my prof actually speculated that many trout are likely salmon that got land locked. Also just learned that a speckled trout is actually not a trout but related to a Red? Loving the mangrove fishing here, looking to get a boat in the next few months! Great episode! John

Hey Capt Joe, this is an informative video as a lot of people don’t take water temps, water clarity, even rain in the area changes the PH levels , all these add into variables like bait abundance, cloudy days or even stuff like boat traffic , love informative vid’s , ( now we’re all your secret fishing spots🤣👍) Tight lines !

Our water in Fort myers hit 100 degrees in the summer here...I hope many fish found cooler water somewhere and didn't die off
@HeadFirstFishing
@HeadFirstFishing 9 месяцев назад
Most probably went deeper. There's not much oxygen in 100 degree water.

@@HeadFirstFishing even in the same body of water like a bay, certain species will congregate by water temp area. Great to keep in mind and moving around to different water temp to target different species.

@@HeadFirstFishing I think all of it. I fish for snook , redfish and trout. I kind of knew snook didn't like the cold but didn't know what temperature. Didn't know the temperatures that redfish and trout prefer. So the actual temperatures (data, facts) is very helpful. Thanks
