The avrame tiny house that was listed, is not under $10,000. The shell alone costs $15K, then the interior finishing costs $3K, and to finish it off, the exterior finishing costs $12K. So expect $30,000 just for the cost of the materials. And guess what, it's not even built yet! lol NOT TO MENTION YOU NEED THE LAND TOO! Along with the rest of these houses listed, expect to pay 3x-10x the "list price". Be realistic in these videos smh
Don't forget the septic, road to the property, water tanks, fencing! Solar. In Australia you cannot develop your land unless there's a road for emergency access, enough water to sustain you 40000L minimum & you won't be able to put a septic in if it's near a body of water. There are minimum land sizes too! ( Over 100 acres in a rural zone! )
Looking at land now myself! 70k for 3 acres with access to trout fishing river in Colorado I guess it just depends on where you’re looking for that land.
This is a really cool collection of tiny home ideas with links. It wouldn't be fair to not point out how most of the prices on these have gone up significantly.
I have been thinking of a small office/guest home for a while now. These kits have a lot of the styles I like. Thank you so much for sharing with us!!!
If you do have "so much extra land" perhaps you could offer a lease or 2 to folks who have a tiny home and need somewhere to put it. You could profit from these leases by charging a fair rent each month. Its also a way to get someone to help if you need assistance to look after yr land etc. Just an idea. Im looking for somewhere myself if you live in NSW❤
I'm still stunned. No pain! Seriously - nothing. The problem is I don't have the pain to remind me not to do the things I shouldn't - like lifting. But I really feel like I dodged a bullet here and anything beats being handed a terminal diagnosis.
Great idea for a video, but the number of errors and misconceptions is staggering. You did mention the kits are just shells then showed lots of at least partially finished models. And some of the pictures at the beginning of the video are $80,000 and up and custom homes (I've seen them on other channels). I don't think it's fair when you're discussing affordable options to confuse people. I love tiny homes and hope more people will consider them - there are a lot of great reasons they should be seen as an option. I just think you need to be realistic so people don't get their hopes up, find out more about the subject of kits, and then get totally discouraged.
A 20’ cargo container is $2,500-$3,000. Then there is the delivery cost, the cost of land, utilities cost $10,000 to get connected, then there is the cost of finishing the interior. If you live outside of town and can’t hook onto a public sewer, then the septic tank alone is well over $2,000.
I have two one-acre lots nnorthern nb for sale. Surveyed. One is in an old field near a neighbouring potato/corn field (ŕotating crops) and the other is in the woods near a potato field. Both accessible by car, and near hunting aand fishing areas.
You may be able to get these "as low as" these prices for the "shell". This is not including anything else in the build. You also need the time, tools and the understanding of how to builld these. Also, utilities, appliances and labor aren't included in any of these videos. On top of that, you need to understand the zoning of your county to know if you can build it or not. Still confused as to why these tiny homes are advertised with no information lol.
In your last example, the Sonoma, a tiny home, the roof is referred to several times as a hip. It also says that it is not a gable roof. This is backwards because the images that you show illustrate a gable roof form on the Sonoma tiny house. This makes me wonder what else isn’t accurate here.
It depends on the area. Before purchasing land, ensure it allows for tiny houses either as primary residences or accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Research local zoning regulations, building codes, and restrictions on the size, placement, and utilities of tiny houses.Check for any specific requirements such as minimum square footage, foundation types, or architectural guidelines.
Call municipalities where you're considering putting one of these. There's no way somebody can list all of the different building codes, etc all over the country.
@Arif Ali For example, my state requires a minimum of 900 square feet to be considered a residence. That pretty much cancelled my hopes of a few acres, 600 sq ft home, in a quiet peaceful place that I could afford.
How does the insurance work on these tiny homes? I’ve been thinking about getting in for about 5 years now and my youngest son is almost out of our house so it will just be me and I can’t afford the rent that ppl are selfishly asking for.
Insurance is not exactly the problem. Why pay $600 to $2500 annually, just for fire and natural disaster coverage, when you can self insure by investing that amount conservatively, and rebuild after 15 years? Just borrow against the land you already have, and build again if anything happens within that time, or get a low apr CC. I'm sure I'm over simplifying all of this, but I never did it, bc I live in a HCOL area, and land is 300k to 1 million+ here.
GRACIAS.
Wrong! In 1901 the Sears Catalog sold tiny house kits. Transported by train, it would show up on a horse pulled wagon with evertything down to the nails and window panes. So, if you think this is a new trend youre about 120 years too late on that one! People are so ignorant! Learn your history!
These homes would be great for the People of Maui after the Deadly wildfire. We will not be able to start Building for over a year. And material will be hard to come by on an island in the pacific. We will need a small quick Home... the choices on island are very expensive and very limited choices. I hope someone reaches out to help us.
Well, if you're from London, you seem to be ignorant, because my comment doesn't say that in the least. Perhaps you need to take English classes?@@desktopkitty
I have a topic I'd love you to address... why the need to lie about the prices? You wasted a lot of people's time by claiming you can buy any of these for under $10K.
@@skullgame Thank you for your feedback. This was made a year ago and prices have changed since then. Also, most of these ktis come in different sizes with prices starting from less than $10k. The whole vid is a lie anyhow. Go to a better channel kike Living Big In A Tiny House, where all this footage is stolen from. Many of these homes are close to 80k or more
Literally all of the interior pictures included in this video do NOT match the tiny home they are supposedly showing. They are pics of full size homes, and most layouts are not remotely even similar to the layout of the actual tiny home. This video is a load of horseshit. 👍🏼👍🏼

I want to get one for a masssssive hunch that I had for yearssss. I believe living in spaces like these can extremely help your productivity and allow you to box your ideas instead of having it scattered all around
The rule to remember for all these videos that broadcast $25k houses is that it's always $25k + X where X is an amount mentioned randomly somewhere later in the video.
The only way to build a tiny home for under 10k is someone gives you all the supplies and labor for free not including appliances which could cost about 8k anything that becomes something for the masses somebody gonna figure out how to make it unaffordable the American way

ALL Kits Costing More than DOUBLE Of What you can build them for Yourself or even have Friends and Family Help With..... Build it yourself for HALF and use the HALF you Saved for All the Other Stuff you need....
10k plus everything else and land and other stuff which turns this 10k house to 50 to 100k unless you know how to do everything yourself then probably 30k
What an excellent point! I'm glad I saw your comment. I'm seriously trying to get some interest in my idea, and for the AIRBNB part of it, that is an OUTSTANDING suggestion. Thank you.
The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.
