ist a gentrified altbau, bought by daddies money for his white rich kids and probably pushing out lower class peoples (looks a lot like bergmannkiez). everything you see on easy german portrays the richer, gentrified, white parts of berlin. i guess it fits into their program, but it doesnt reflect berlin reality at all.

@@giovannischulze1253: Of course it doesn't reflect the reality of Berlin for *all* people, but it does reflect the reality of Berlin for *some* people. If you take issue with the venues selected for their series, then kindly send them an email with suggestions. I've known Cari and Janusz since before Easy German even began; both are very kind and generous people who would be horrified at your characterization of the series (and really their character personally).

Interesting comment's section. And on the other hand we have a German TV channels or RU-vid channel where they represent other countries, especially Balkan and Eastern European as very poor with appartments or houses that look much of a slum.

Technically, from my experience he said the truth. Yes the person's in the video are quite nice people. But it's common now in Berlin that the parents should sign the contract to rent an apartment. Many Berliners, working class people etc. can't pay their rent anymore due gentrification and the rarity of apartments. Young students even sleep in their cars. Investors are constantly buying whole houses and envict old tenants. There are 200+ applications on one apartment.( I was moving out and searching for a new tenant myself, I was completely overwhelmed by the interest and nearly 500 messages after a week.) So yes, the landlords are only picking the ones, with the highest income ( of their parents ) and raising the rent. There is even a Formular for the application, where you should bring a copy of the bank balance from you, your partner and your parents. Even I picked a homeless, debt free couple as new tenants for the selection, where both earning good ( they still lived in their car, because they can't find anything in time) - my landlord decided for a young girl /student from abroad with no job,but a rich mom - who signed the contract in the end. :/ I feel still sorry for the couple. Yes, ,you are right guys - still no reason to be racist! The guy with his comment seems to be frustrated over the situation and gentrification which is quite hard for people in other countries too
