Strongwidget scammers too. His name is nick. I ask questions they are not ligit. They ask me money $3000 for the software. Then he give me his WhatsApp number we chat. Then I called him. I needed someone to talk too over the phone. So then he said we’re not allowed to take a call. So that’s how i realized it’s fake and scammers.there’s a lot evil people around the globe be vigilant they don’t like to work. Bastard

Niki is brave to tell her story to the world. I recognised such a scam myself, the scammers spend a lot of time building trust and connections. Seeing Niki telling her story soothes me and affirms my belief that I did the right thing, really helps me walk away from it and stand back on my feet again.

True. I always like to stay suspicious of anybody who try to get close to me without any valid reason. And I always tell myself that I don’t truely know someone until I lived with them for some years (in romantic aspect). For friendship, they aren’t going to be my close friends unless I know more about their background (parents, siblings, job...)
My mum is from a very different background. I disagree with her on a ton of things, but she has golden rule that she abides by: always draw the line on money. No relationship will ever be explicitly about money. Even gold diggers go by gifts. Technology gave us these scams but technology also shows us the reality of the world. I'm actually glad that I lost this "innocence" by knowing what the world is like. I was going to invest $500 initially but to the credit of the funding company,they asked me 6 questions that they wanted honest answers before processing the transaction. That's when I got cold feet.

The platform is requiring him to pay 20% out of pocket to get his money out, which I know he will also lose because that's how the scam works. They are going in for one last kill before his account disappears from the platform. And it is driving me crazy to see that he will lose additional money because of his gullibleness. He is going to have to declare bankruptcy because he put in all his life savings and borrowed 150K. There has to be a special place in hell for these scammers.

What happened in the end? There are lots of scammers on here, don't trust them. Your brother also needs to be careful of being contacted directly in the future of promises to recover his money. I hope he stopped as soon as possible, as they just make the victim continue by promising false hope. Where are you from? You may be able to claim it back, but my knowledge is in the UK.

She didn't send it to him though. She was under the impression that she transferred the money to a legit investment platform (which it was), but he sent her a spoof link to click on.

A person at her age with 400k - could of invested it with a Financial Advisor and by the time of her retirement could of had around 5M or more. It's very sad that she was scammed out of a very secure and financially independent future.
They got me too. Facebook dating. I only lost 1k. I feel bad for this young lady and her dad. I was very cautious and refused to put anymore money on the platform. Everything she said about her communications was very similar to mine with the "woman" I met.

Banks and their Transaction Monitoring department in the states should be doing SO MUCH MORE to protect their clients. It bothers me the bank's AML department was not able to detect such large amounts of money being moved so frequently into a ''dubious'' platform and was not triggered.
I also think more victims should file reports with as much information they can provide as well as make it known what platforms have been used by scammers (if they haven't filed a report , e.g. due to shame).

what about the fake platform . Cant they be charged ? Anybody who profited off Scam should be sued including google for allowing the scammers to have there app up on google play .
It's crypto so it's all completely untraceable & routed halfway around the world immediately after a victim makes a deposit. Lawsuits are expensive, and who can afford to take on Google's lawyers even if they actually did have a case on that front (which they probably don't) I honestly wish crypto didn't blow up like it did considering how little most people know about it & the unregulated wild west that it really is.
How is it completely untraceable. When I have a coin base wallet I have to register my name and make a photocopy of my ID. Doesn't everybody else have to do that too? Because it seems pretty traceable when it comes to the IRS and taxes.
