Inside a Marion 7800 

Always a pleasure to see a man who is good at his job at work. He was easy on the ear, too.

It looks big on the outside but once inside you see how absolutely massive it is! Great Video!

I used to go onboard a 7800 as a teenager a mile from where I live in the 80's. This brings back memories, thanks for posting.

The inside looks like a gigantic machine shop wow. I hope everyone is wearing ear protection I learned the hard way working in high noise environments for decades.

I ran a 26 yard shovel open pit in 30 feet water pit. Did the night shift for 4 years. Snapping a cable meant we had to get divers to under water weld so we could bring her back up to fix.

The pro's like that operator make it look real easy. I'm thinking it's anything but that easy. Amazing machine, amazing people that keep it operating and maintained. Very impressive indeed. Many thanks for the vid!

They have a walking mechanism. Two shoes on each side that pick the back of the dragline up and slide the entire machine backward. To steer the dragline in the direction you want to walk you swing the machine left or right. A dragline always will move in the direction its facing.

Since 1977 eh?? 😮 Let’s see, the 1st Dragline I ran was a Linkbelt Speeder with a 2yard bucket From on top of a pile that a larger Dragline made, I was loading a portable rock Crusher with lime rock at Miami Crushed Rock in Sweetwater north of Taniami Trail. 👍👷‍♂️ Ran Lima 2400’s Clamshells & Draglines, B&E 88-B’s at This rock quarry and a Coal strip mine in Indiana... then I decided to be a Pilot 👨‍✈️ and flew air cargo 🛫✈️🛬 for 22 years 😎 but then I decided to run Construction Cranes 🚧🏗. Again and after that one more Lima 2400...!! 😎

I know that operator is the man you want to tech you

man the guy made it look so easy to operate big machine make a big mess if you dont know what you are doing and knew what he was doing call vid

you know its really big when it has I beams for the structure.
