That was so fun. I like old dishes and children's tea sets. It was fun being outdoors and getting to hear natural Russian being spoken. Yes, please have another visit to the flea market. Also I have always enjoyed the sacred water videos. Could we have a short visit someday? Thanks and stay safe, kisses to kitty.
Cheryl and I used to love getting up early on Saturdays for nearby "Garage Sales/ Yard Sales "....on the hunt for treasures 😊. We learned one curious thing....Wealthy people think their junk is worth more 🤔.
Ooo, books, old books! I love finding old books at flea markets and thrift shops. I do a lot of crafting wherein I use the pages from old books. I would love finding old, 1800's to 1950s books, and am overjoyed whenever I happen upon books in other languages, which doesn't happen very often. It was nice going on treasure hunt with you and Alex, thank you for taking us. Stay safe, be well, blessings to you both. When will we have an update on Alex's latest apartment project? Soon maybe? I hope so, I enjoy seeing his work. xx
I used to like Flea Markets. Not anymore. Your Flea Market looks like the ones we had. You can take me anywhere (virtually) and I'm happy. Your part of the world is unknown to me and I enjoy 'our' trips.
Very enjoyable. Would like you to do more filming of flea markets when you can. Your videos make the world a much smaller place and that is a good thing. Greetings from the other end of the world. 🇳🇿
Valeria, you filmed it great with a cellphone, just take us along with you and you don't have to worry about the sound - there was nothing wrong with it. Just have fun!
Same here! Men usually like to look for tools / instruments / practical things and women for vases (or candle holders), decorational items, clothing etc.
I would love to see some Soviet Chess games/pieces. I collect them, and have some 4-6 sets from the USSR already. They can also be found here in Denmark, where people probably have brought them home as souvenirs. At present, I would not be allowed to buy any from Russia or Russians due to sanctions and EU import restrictions, but luckily Soviet chess gear can be found in most former East Block countries (Poland, ex-GDR, for example). Kokhloma items can also be interesting, but quality appears to differ a lot from pure junk to well crafted art. I also have some 1980 Moscow Olympics items, so any of that could be interesting to see via you.
I would love it you would ask them if they have any ancient metal detector finds : ) And if you would show them to us. You are so fortunate to live in a place with relics from truly ancient times!
Thank you for this video. If you did not tell us that it is in Russia, I will think that it is a flea market in London Paris, Berlin Amsterdam, Glasgow, Dublin, Brussels . What I saw is exactly what they sell in flea markets in western European cities. The only one difference is that you are allowed to take your camera and film what you want except where individuals don't want to be filmed. I love this kind of videos and once again thanks
I havent been to a flea market for several years and it was fun to wander around your local one. I remember my vrandfather owning a nutcracker like that i loved your candle holder and that lovely piece of treen - I love a bit of wood. Treen is the name we give to smallish things made from wood here in the UK.
I love flea markets. My favorite stuff to look at is kitchen stuff - glassware, plates, mixing bowls, gadgets and I also like jewelry. But I'll look at everything. You never know what you can't live without until you see it. It's always fun to see what other countries have at their sales. This was a great idea. I hope you can do more of these videos. Thanks Valeria!
Thank you for these videos, Valeria and Alex. I see you are getting Alex more involved in the live video creation. It has been very hot here upper 30sC in the day and upper 20s at night. Greetings to Kitty and Sheffield.
Do most towns have flea markets? Over here in the US, people try to control who can access 'farmer's markets' which are very similar. They put up big fees and rules to keep competitors and others out of them. And that's wrong and very frustrating. There's a lot of reasons why small businesses and people new in a business need a flea market and a free entry into zero cost marketing for businesses to be able to start up. This affects the future of being able to participate in businesses and industries. But the corruption over here tries to curb people entering the market wrongly that would become their competitors. So I like this idea of flea markets. And its very important that you have them. And I've very fascinated by them. An example is that people like me would sell bee honey in them to build client lists in early years. People will even still sell in them when they have been in an industry for awhile because its a low cost way to meet people.
I love the flea market videos. I can not read Russian so the books are of no interest. Tools and real antiques and soviet/slavic products are of interest. Do you think some sellers are selling stolen goods. I am always interest in kokoshnik type shops or products and old folk dress. Thanks for video
That was interesting. Thank you, for taking us along. My mom says she likes to see old jewelry styles if you happen to find any in the future. It’s interesting how similar these kinds of markets are around the world. 🌷💜 God bless your family.
Wow, I miss going to flea markets like that. I used to go to those with my granddad. There are none around me anymore. I could travel to ones several hours away, but the fuel outweighs the experience. Yall take care, and happy hunting!
Sometimes, you can be really lucky on those markets. I got an incredible price for 2 or 3 times. What I have not seen on your market, but often see on our markets are cameras and video-games.
Love the flea markets!!! There is an area called Niles in Fremont. Mostly antique stores. Every August the entire town shuts down and becomes Flea market. Old and new items. Lots of food vendors! The surrounding homes, several blocks, where most of the homes have yard sales. It's fun & you run into people you know!! Do they have yard sales in Russia?
Mostly no. May be because yards and garages are filled and have not enough free space, or because the Russians prefer to keep their privacy and do not invite random people to the home in big quantities. So the internet sites as Avito are used for first contact, or things are sold at flee markets and second hand shops, or just donated.
You did find a pretty candle holder 😊. It's nice to get out and do something on a sunny day. 🌞 Yes same here in NY state; people trying to sell their used items for high prices. Alex really liked that nut cracker. It was cool. Very unusual / unique and it looked like it would work very well. Growing up, our nutcracker was difficult for me to use. It didn't hold the big nuts well. It kept me busy though, so my mother must have been happy about that 😂.
Our flea markets are mostly tools, trinkets, hardware, leather goods, clothes, electronics, wood cabinetry/goods and Food. I didn't see food. Is that allowed there? Please show it. 😋
Some stall are well présente, others are too messe. Can you please show us beautiful porcelain. I am sure they are treasure to be found. The old book, with the damages binding seems extremely interesting
Any sewing machines? I love finding vintage sewing machines here in the states in second hand thrift stores, estate sales and garage sales.. The ones prior to 1980 are made from metal, after around 1980 they have plastic gears and not as well made.
Looks similar to over here in parts of the U.S. Some of our flea markets are a blend of craft-show creations as well. This summer I went to one and took a picture of handmade pillows shaped like the state of Michigan with generic flower-printed fabric. The seller asked me if I was taking pics to steal her design lol. No, it was just a cool pillow. And technically, God made the design. Anyways, thanks for sharing :)
That was very interesting and fun. I enjoy looking around flea markets, yard sales and garage sales. Sometimes you can find some really good items that you are willing to pay for. Thank you. May God continue to bless you and your family in body, mind and spirit.
i would have bought that nutcracker. lately flea markets here have been disappointing also. it is remarkable how much junque in russia looks like our junque here in u.s. i enjoyed seeing the different dish patterns. thank you for taking us along.
Hi! I have a question. Are any people in Russia interested in miniatures for dollhouses? Creating or collecting. There are many groups here in America that create miniatures. Furniture, pets, etc. A lot of it is not for children as it can get VERY expensive. You could pay more for a miniature than the real thing. I wonder if they sell any at flea markets in Russia. Also, do you have "garage sales" or "yard sales" where people come to your home and buy your things? Thanks! Great videos.
Your first video that I watched was flea market and rocket launcher for sale on market. P.S. People mostly like their privacy so they generally hate to be on camera.
Flea Markets can be fun. Most of those people has specialties in what they sell. Collect on those kinds of things. You get to know them and can ask for items you are looking for. They know other sellers and will point you in that direction. I knew Alex would find little things to help him with his hobbies and work. What is one man's junk is another's treasure. lol
I really enjoyed seeing this flea market! Loved seeing all the different antique and older items for sale. I will have to seek out a flea market near me. I forgot how much fun this can be! I am interested in seeing more housewares that are typical in Russian homes from long ago and today. What fun!
Nice selection of goods You could use your phone and pretend you are on a call to someone and ask, do you like the objects I will buy it for you if you like,
The location is definitely important for me, if I wanted to go here. This flea market looks like a waste of time. If you go to the other flea market that is better please write in the description the street.
Oh YES! Flea markets, yard sales, garage sales, I'm there! I'm one of those who is proud to tell you that a beloved item of mine was bought second/third hand. I hate to waste money and I am old enough to remember how to repair, mend, clean, and renew. "Professional buyers" I understand. I go EARLY! There is always a stand or two that tries to sell their "vintage" or "antiques". The flea market is not a good place for them. We look for a bargain. Clothing, tools, and snacks I would look at. some of the gardening tools interested me. Sorry, that man was afraid to be videoed; as is his right. There are sometimes less legally acquired things at the flea markets here as well, you might get a similar reaction in some places. Thank you for sharing what you can!
