What's fascinating about this is the sheer use or practical effects... Makes it feel authentic, even though you can see some aspects that are clearly not real. o:

Oh wow, this is a blast from the past! I remember seeing this scene around the time it came out and was always super impressed by the amount of practical effects they used. There's just something to be said about having real physical props the actors can step on and interact with, it makes it feel like they're actually inside some massive creature. Awesome stuff!

That was scary how quickly the other soldiers disappeared. I hope I'll never find a giant manta.

Well the set is pretty cool I guess but I would not want to be like those men who were fully eaten

OH WOW I never imagined I’d see this clip on a vore channel!! I thought Crayola Kids 20,000 leagues under the sea was too obscure! But here it is! This is some of the earliest vore I was exposed to in media, and OH my god was I obsessed with the scenes in the creatures mouth. The practical effects are surprisingly convincing and good! The SQUISH, especially trying to get the tongue off of him?? Love it ^^ Thanks for bringing this nostalgia trip to me!

Okay waaait a minute, I saw the thumbnail and am now confused, I saw this exact set, submarine design, diver costumes, & cheesy 3D monster as a kid in Crayola Kids 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! So they must’ve just reused this footage in the Crayola Kids version?

My confusion deepens! Isn’t this movie from the 50’s? What’s it doing with a late 90’s kids TV CGI monster and submarine? So… that part must’ve come from the Crayola Kids version, right? If so, who spliced the two together? And why??

Plus, there are parts of the internal scenes where the insides pulsing and moving is just the footage being basically digitally liquified/stretched/squished around to look like extra movement. So some of the internals have digital editing too, the same way that I saw as a kid. Which part of this video is which version? Or is there something obvious I’m missing?

I wonder if there's any behind the scenes footage of that big practical set, I searched for a few mins but couldn't find anything.

That’s a good question. I actually have a dvd of this movie! It’s a copy that came in a blank dvd case so its probably just the movie, no extras. But I’ll take a look and see if there’s a dvd menu & any behind the scenes stuff
