Whenever he is asked who lives in these expensive places? its always: "ministers" , "politicians" and "top military officials" Not business folks, tech gurus or innovative young minds. That tells you a whole lot
Happy to see at least one comment pointing that out. Political ethics in Africa does not exist at all and the extent of bribery is insane. It's a nation struggling to survive and funding the life of privileged few (criminals). Nothing to be impressed about. Hopeless for the whole continent.
I noticed that too lol 😅. The power that be that owns Nigeria in there back pocket. Regular folks ain't got the cash flow for plush living and balling.
That , actually is an often repeated lazy summation! For a start, there is no such thing as a "politician" in the true sense of the word! Most people who go into politics are often people who have had previous different careers ! And of course only people of means mostly go into politics in the first place! Lawyers, ex military generals, bankers, businesspersons and even doctors all get involved in politics! But many Nigerians don't seem to take on board that politics is very transient! Politicians win elections and lose elections , they can be impeached, their tenures in office do come to an end! Additionally, court tribunals can upturn election results and sack any incumbents! Instinctively, most politicians, like most Nigerians actually do like to retire to their home states . All told, politicians along the three tiers of government are not up to 20,000 individuals! So how can 20,000 or so people own or occupy over one and a half million homes in Abuja?? We are too quick to buy into these tropes of corrupt politicians dominating our society! 👊🏾🇳🇬!
This is why the country is never going to move forward. Politicians are living like celebrities in a country whereby millions cannot afford one meal per day. Majority of them made their money through corruption benefitting from the country cake. If we have a good country like the United States or Britain then most should be in prison by now. They don’t even pay property taxes or contribute a dime to the economy.
Late President Mugabe's quote onAfrican Education System has surprising outcomes. "The smartest students pass with 1st Class & get admission to medical & Engineering schools. The 2nd Class Students get MBAs and LLBs to manage the First Class students. The 3rd Class Students enter politics, and rule both 1st and 2nd Class students. The failures join the Army and control politicians who, if they are not happy with, they kick or kill them..... Best of all those who did not attend any school, become prophets & witch doctors, and everybody follows them."
I’m proud to be African but the fact that the riches people in Africa are politicians is disgraceful. No skill, no talent just greed and money hungry politicians
@@ChristineStilphen love scammers are insignificant! There are more Business men & entrepreneurs in Nigeria than anywhere else in the world! The money from love scammers & other scams is chicken change compared to the revenue that's being generated by genuine businesses.
I can assure you that you are wrong my brother! I don't know if you are on the continent or overseas but I've been back for 15 years now and I can tell you for a fact that there's real wealth on the ground here that has nothing to do with politics! Nigeria has a population of over 150.000.000 people how many of those dyou think are into politics? But when you see the amount of wealth on display in Nigeria it's not just sustainable that politicians are behind it all
Having grown up in Lagos and now living in Abuja, I can confidently say Abuja is far better than Lagos in every way.. good infrastructure, better safety, greenery, quality of life, class of people and so much more. In addition to the affluence here, Abuja people are just awesome, so kind, warm and friendly. I don't think I can return to that mess called Lagos again.
I've never been to Abuja but to ibadan Ghana and Enugu and I won't lie nowhere has matched the lively friendly energy and community I see In Lagos but maybe Abuja is different, there's just something about how people connect here in Lagos that I love, but I might just be bias because I've lived her all my life lol

@@moham.279 my country used to be the best country in the world. Now our politicians are destroying completely by unfettered immigration from third world countries like yours. Now we live in tents because migrants fucked up our country.
This is one of the reasons why our politicians don't know most people are suffering in this country. It would have been great if this development could be spread across the federation. Much love for Abuja❤. At least is not as congested as Lagos and everywhere is cool and chill.👌
@@naijagatekeeper101 You all can keep praising Abuja and keep dissing my beloved Eko, but you can keep your Abuja and allow me to keep my chaotic Lasgidi. Oh wow. I am lost for words. I have been living in the UK for over 23 years and I can tell you for a fact that if only I have a 4 bed house in Asokoro, I will abandon the UK and come straight home. Those places will motivate you to be rich. Oh wow. Very beautiful places. Good Lord please give us ver good moni o.
I remember going to Nigeria about ten years ago. It was first time to Nigeria. Can’t lie, I was pretty blown away. The hotel we stayed, the Hilton I belive looked more like a palace than a hotel. Absolutely stunning.an incredible experience, especially for someone from Nigerian descent.
This is not the real Nigeria, but a theme park for the rich. Abuja is only there for the 0.00001% of the population who live on the backs of the rest of the countries' population.
NIGERIA would be more beautiful than Dubai if it had the right leadership. Nigerian people are so hard working but the government has always let them down.
Asides that you must take into consideration the population of Dubai or UAE in general vis a vis their petroleum resources and income in comparison to the population of Nigeria which is over 210 Million people vis a vis the petroleum income etc.. this is by no way justifying the fact that Nigeria ahold still be better than where we are now.
My brother, what a blessing to have 210 million people and above, that's a stimulant of growth. A large population represents a massive market for goods and services. There's no excuse for that, all you need is a wise leadership that puts Nigerians first.
@@StevenNdukwu hello Steven ! Thank you for sharing your vidéo. I would like to visit and work in Nigeria. Is it possible ? I am a business woman my company is Sweet Home Service. I would like to work for billionaire. How can I get in touch with them ??
I stayed in a mansion, in Asokoro last year. My uncles best friend owns it and invited me to stay there, for my first ever trip to Nigeria. It was probably the best 8 days of my life, staying in Abuja and visiting my family in Jos. The houses blew my mind, very different from what I'm used to here in boring England.
You should leave boring England & return to your ethnic homeland. Actions speak louder than words. Africa is so great, yet there’s no mass influx like we see in Europe & North America. 🤣
from the looks of the houses the prices are really not that bad, seen homes like that in the US going for $20 million US! so $4 million is a great deal!
Abuja is hands down my favourite city around West, central and east Africa. The only African city that has it bit in my opinion would be Cape town and Egypt's new capital city (under construction - which seems to be taking on Abu Dhabi structurally). Abuja is a truly amazing city (nice greenery, roads and modern houses - there's always a new and amazing estate being developed). The centenary city and airport city when completed would add even more architectural value to Nigeria's federal capital city.
With the emergence of the Centenary city, Abuja will be really closing the gap between it and Capetown! You need to know it is also modelled after Dubai, Singapore and Monaco! God give you and me long life to live and witness the city! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!
@@aframaco9491 I agree with you. We'll both be alive, hail and hearty to witness and live in these choice places in our lifetimes. With the rate at which Abuja is developing, It should catch up with Cape town in terms of opulence.
Abuja is beautty but dont forget Cape town is also still growing and building cities within a city its not only Abuja that is growing bro be real@@deu8894
Thank you Mr. Steven. We're blessed to have you doing such an amazing job . Africa is indeed beautiful. Keep up the great zeal and lots of love from Uganda.
Lovely video as always Steve. It is sad that when the agent is asked the kind of people that live in all these areas, he mentions politician, military generals, ministers and a host of government officials before businessmen..That is the sad story of Nigeria and Africa 😢
@@fesderi3933 Exactly ! There aren't even 50 ministers in this current administration! There are only 109 senators and 360 representatives! People like to give the impression that only politicians live in Abuja ! How can less than 3000 people occupy nearly 2 million homes in Abuja?
im from America and plan to move to Africa. to get back around my roots. Africa is advancing on many levels and world powers don't like that Great video
Africa has been advancing until you visit you will not know. There is nothing new about this video. Even way back in the 1980s many cities across Nigeria had amazing building and not everyone who owned the was stinking rich or a political criminal.
@@gerardonochie3408Exactly. Foreigners just didn’t know about the thriving Africa because their media did not want them to see it. Now that the people own their own media, the truth is reaching the world. Africa hasn’t just started thriving. It has been thriving in different ways.
Were expecting you, come and enjoy Africa. So the coups taking place recently don't send the proper messages to you guys or you guys just decide to ignore them? A guy just showed you a few estates and you're planning to come back to your roots😈
I thought Port Harcourt city had good estates until I saw this video. Wowww, the difference is really wide. The ones in Port Harcourt city and even Lagos are to some extent affordable but the ones in Abuja as I have seen in this video is wayyy expensive. Even some 'rich' people can't afford it. This video really shows the difference between being rich and being wealthy. Beautiful structures by the way💯 Kudos to Steven👍

I think guzape should have made it in here though. Guzape in my opinion is better than jabi in terms of presence if wealthy people and also more modern infrastructure and greenery
Not true. Guzape doesn’t have half as much greener than Jabi. Guzape is just starting to develop and doesn’t have that much greenery yet. Even infrastructure wise like amenities and proximity to town and market Jabi is still better
Wow 😯 I really love Abuja 👌Definitely one of the few well planned, organized and clean cities here in Africa! 👍 But I feel like more Nigerians should embrace more greenery 🌳in and around their houses! Otherwise, lots of love from Kenyan guy here ❤️
The tragedy of Abuja is that (as indirectly mentioned by the Estate Agent) it is basically built on and sustained by an economy of corruption and the mismanagement of Nigeria's commonwealth..to succeed in Abuja (and to even think about acquiring/renting one of the properties shown in this video) you are either in government or reliant on someone in government in some shape or form..the Estate Agent didnt tell us where or how a politician or General comes about 2/3/4m USD..and I just refuse to be a part of this travesty because simply put..because any one of those houses in Abuja is the reason why a road in Bayelsa in not tarred or a govt hospital in Zamfara does not have drugs.
You're so right. The common man buys into the hype and relocates here, only to be disappointed because he doesn't have the means to sustain a life here. The same people rushing down here are also rushing back to where they rushed from.
It is thesame allover the world! Is the western world any better? Atleast Nigerian politicians are building in their country, how about politicians in other African countries who buy expensive properties in New York, London & Paris which can be seized at the blink of an eye
@@festfst6488Who in their right mind, calls the *richest country on the continent,* with the *richest Black men in the world* "a trench"? They must be illiterates. Every nation has poor areas, even Dubai keeps their poor areas hidden.
I previously lived in Lagos for over 7 years and I can objectively say that I prefer Abuja to Lagos. The serenity of Abuja is charming!! Abuja's greenery is obvious and it is a serene city to live in. The only edge that Lagos has over Abuja is the extensive coastline & water-front view.
Saying you prefer Abuja to Lagos is like saying you prefer a 5 star hotel to a 3 star hotel....It's an Obvious choice...but the thing is that Abuja is made for the well earned class...for a young graduate or a beginner entrepreneur...please go to Lagos...the market is bigger, the opportunity is far more, anything sells in Lagos...anything...move to Abuja when you have a steady flow of income...nothing less than a million per month guaranteed.😮
Seeing videos of abuja has made Short buildings hold a unique charm that has grown on me, making me appreciate them more than skyscrapers, Nice video as alway. Steven I sure peace is done like this✌️ and this is okay👌
It is incumbent for every society, every country to advance, to grow! Development is always welcome, it can never be too much! I don't imagine why there would even be an iota of doubt that Nigeria(Africa) can and should have riches! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!
I guess Sunrise Hills Estate didn't allow you to tour around the Estate. I know that cos I work there. I work with the construction company that erects all the buildings in Sunrise Hills Estate and that's A&K Construction company. But I love your work bro. I'd really appreciate it if you can find your way into Sunrise Hills Estate. Godbless.
I like the fact that the guy mentions his prices in naira unlike Steve always using dollars like that's our official currency, gov needs to do something about people that trade in dollars in Nigeria, Steve, stop encouraging it.
You can get a lot for your money in Abuja, at least from a UK perspective, wow! Compared to London, even the most expensive properties in Abuja are still a fraction of the price of equivalent sized properties in London in similarly exclusive neighbourhoods . I live a short drive away from a road called the Bishops avenue in London which is for the uber rich, where 6 and 7 bedroom houses routinely sell for anywhere between £25 and £40 million depending on the size of the lot. £1 million in London will get you a very average sized 4 bedroom house, in a very ordinary part of London or it can buy you a 3 bedroom apartment in a reasonably exclusive area.
Nice progress towards development in Abuja. However, I will like to see emphasis placed on community development and recreation. It appears the focus is only on the houses with little effort placed on community parks or recreational areas. Developers should start considering building places for outdoor community activities like tennis, soccer stadiums or golf courses. Also, that lake needs to be developed before the site is considered prime real estate. Looks more like a swamp in its current state.
All these places you mentioned are in Abuja, even the lake side you see here is a large outdoor recreation area. And as for the lake, I wish it's allowed to show you the real color of the lake, I've been on a boat across it and it's way clearer than what it is in this video. Everything is carefully planned in this city and most things that makes it family friendly is put in place.
It is great to see that Abuja has a large investment that draws in the wealthy and affluent in our society. Realistically it is too expensive for the average person or middle class. With the economy of Nigeria at the moment and the high cost off food prices and fuel. Showing this video can only be for the extremely wealthy. You did not even show the areas where affordable housing are and how people are living in reality. It is good to advertise and promote our country. It is also important to give real facts.
Exactly and it's just 1% of people here who live like this. Mostly Northerners and people in government. I laugh when people say Lagos is better than Abuja. Yes, but only in terms of an environmental yardstick- traffic, crowd, etc. In reality, Abuja has A LOT of very bad roads. Only the expressways are developed. 99% of people here aren't rich. They're barely middle class and just surviving. There are hardly any good opportunities here except you're in government, employers don't pay well, businesses aren't doing so well because people are unwilling to pay for things. Everything is "expensive" to them. People are relocating en mass from this same Abuja Lagos people are running to, to the same Lagos they're running from. So ironic. Lagos is the place to be in terms of opportunities, career growth, businesses, talent, etc. Abuja, if you're not Hausa, Muslim or connected to any elite Northern circle, things will be very difficult for you to break into. It's strictly who you know and who knows you. The real movers and shakers are in Lagos, not Abuja as most people think. 99% of people watching and commenting on this video don't know that the have a 0.000001% of attaining anything like this in Abuja.
It's obvious both people know what their saying and doing , the exclusivity and calmness shows its people who not just have money buy kin taste in good living .. I really appreciate this channel.
@@festfst6488 you say that ignorantly forgetting back then it was not a choice but what we were fed on a daily, so nowadays the power it's in our hands to contra it

Thank you for posting this up. Much appreciated. Learnt more of the neighborhoods in Abuja, Nigeria. Thank you, once again. Much appreciated indeed. Peace and God bless...
Point of correction. Not only politicians dwell in those beautiful serenities, no. Those serenities are both for millionaires, multi millionaires, billionaires, and multi billionaires business moguls ( both men & women) of a great country called Nigeria. Despite all, Nigeria remains the biggest country in Africa in terms of infrastructural development and business in general in the entire continent of Africa. Nigerians are the most ingenious people in the world...Ok true or false?? The answer is a big TRUE in capital letters.
So beautiful to see Abuja. I visited the capital city many times. It’s also very fascinating to know how Nigerian politicians sucks up the wealth of our great nation.
Steven, please could you do a video of these places showing 'affordable' properties?..for rent and for purchase too. It'll actually help the average middle class Nigerian. Looking forward to it🙏🏿
This is why naira keeps devaluing. Why should price tag on a property be in dollar when the currency in the constitution is in naira . It’s not only the government that’s behind the devaluation, we the people are also behind it
