I am disappointed the roads are bad and there are no sidewalks. Also, these estates should start considering underground wires because they are more reliable and more aesthetically pleasing.

The estate is decent…I like that there as no high fences which are an eye sore and show the insecurity that plagues Nigeria. They just need to maintain the landscaping and sweep the roads. And a lot of houses in Nigeria have small windows…that’s why the houses are always dark inside.

I’ve been to Graceland estate and it’s not so different from arugo. The thing about these estates is it’s for people who don’t mind not having privacy. I personally don’t like estates with houses with low fences, such that I can high-five my next door neighbor. I so much love privacy. There’s even one developed by tangent developers off egbu road before shoprite and it’s just like this and Graceland. But that one seemed abandoned at the time. Bushes everywhere. Great job! 👏🏼

High fences are a hallmark of underdevelopment. You only cage yourself when you live in an insecure environment. Nothing is scarier than walking down a road/street with high fences. It just doesn't make sense. Even the beauty of the houses is lost behind high concrete walls.

@@abilitycompass6559 that’s your own opinion. If you read my comment, you’d see that I said “I personally don’t like houses with low fences.” A house with a high wall doesn’t necessarily mean “underdevelopment” or whatever you mean. High and low fences has to do with choice. If an estate builds all their houses with low fences, then they must offer a high level of security in the area. But if you build your house with a high wall, it means that’s your preference or you aren’t certain of the security in the area. Neither high or low walls is bad.

Yes, that's my opinion. Apologies if it came across as rubbishing your opinion and preference which you are entitled to. Perhaps my attitude to this thing is informed by my experience. I live in an environment where high walls are something of an aberration. We have fences just a little higher than the average person in length between adjacent houses. That gives reasonable privacy in the background. But the front fences are mandatorily see-through. The idea is that it gives a sense of community and enhances the beauty of the houses as they flow with mandatorily planted ornamental trees.

4 whole commercials. Whew, that was rough. Luckily all that training in the 1990s paid off. 10 minutes to get to the store!? I'm definitely spoiled where I am now, I can walk to groceries in 2 minutes. I always wanted to start a business in concrete paving and drainage. *Anyway, I digress. Question (s): In communities like this, who would be responsible for repaving the roads? Would the community chip in together like home owners association? Or is it the governments responsibility? As I look up concrete paving in Nigeria, I see a lot of Chinese companies pop up. Is China taking hold of infrastructure development?
