I like to fold out the bottom of outside corners. So its a consistent cover. If the carpet isn't cut perfect at that outside corner the base won't cover if the bottom is not smoshed out

I actually tried this today, my very first time installing cove base and wow! It was amazing bud, AMAZING ! every inch of the cove base flushed up very nicely !@@FloorsbySouthernboys
If you know the thickness, you can get really precise and make a cut at the bottom that far out before you cut your angles cut at the bottom. Then you won't have that tiny empty space on your corner base. I guess it all depends on what color you're working with. Lighter colors will likely show the hole more than darker colors because of shade.
I had to remove a 48" piece and it was left off for a long time. Now putting it back on the bent part at the bottom is not quite bent as much as the other pieces still on the wall. To get it to match, should I heat it up and hold it in place after gluing? Also, I don't have cove base adhesive, will liquid nails work? Thanks!

Question, I've noticed that most of the installs are done using 3-4 feet of rubber base, I like to install this in my garage and I have two sides that are straight with only 1 inside bend about 20 feet apart, feet. is it ok to run say 20 feet to the inside bend, then run another 20 feet or should I focus on short 4-6 feet lengths? my goal is to not have many cuts and look completely seamless. Between two of my walls in the garage I can run a continuous line of the rubber base molding for a solid 40 feet with only one inside bend. what do you think?
@@fusic09 although full length (20 feet) is ideal, I felt it was going to get messy due to the adhesive and adjusting a 20 foot strip alone would require. The longest strip I ran was 12 feet and to assist me with lifting it cleanly against the wall, I used a 8 foot piece of 2x4 which allowed me to flip it just right (you have to time it just right and still requires some adjusting). My opinion and this is my first attempt, trying to run 20 feet alone is going to get messy so another set of hands would be nice to have.
A cove base gouging tool is for someone that can't control their knife. I bought a gouging tool and it's never been used, it's been sitting collecting dust in my tool box for 20+ years.
