BoF's Imran Amed sat down with Balmain's Olivier Rousteing and Emmanuel Diemoz to discuss the rise of Balmain and it's digital revolution. Subscribe Here: goo.gl/pIDZul
You can tell from the interviewer's questions that he has a very intimate knowledge of the fashion industry. Thanks for the thoughtful and insightful questions!
What I love about BOF is that they ask relevant and specific questions. It's not generalised and this has a great result. It was so enlightening and inspiring listening to Olivier talk us through the Balmain world. Always nicely done BOF.
Great interview. I loved the conversation about taking risks and also how being inspired by the fashionable women around him is what sustains the relationships, instead of "using" them to advertise creations that were created without them in mind... as other houses do. Olivier is fantastic. I am one of his many instagram followers.
Olivier interviews well, easily communicating his vision. Its lovely to watch. He is really the designer of this generation and the interview brought that across well
+jonnyfendi2003 It was doing way less than that, Olivier is crushing it. Balmain is flogging £2,000 blazers, so not like they are going to get many customers
OMG! I never knew, such a fantastic interview and makes me want to buy more Balmain. Inspiring me to create my own line as well. Love this channel. Very pure and influential...
Great interview! It's exciting to see some of questions that I'm curious about being asked in the interview. Balmain goes beyond designing fashionable clothes, it's also a successful business.
this is very nice i enjoyed it i surly enjoyed the whole new and how to but it , the foundation and the recreation its too heart felt , i liked how both guests where seeing each other point of view yet both going for the same heart , good job
no no nooooo i just have to comment on how he interviews AGAIN he is amazing. like really?? Doesn't he fall off?? he's like the Beyoncé of interviews!! The program is so informative. Just think 4 years??? yeah...now i feel lazy. I'm going to work on my logo TONIGHT.
As always guys at BOF you did great interview. Balmain was relevant again thaks to Christoph Decarnin and his view on the Balmain girl and todays Balmain girl seems to be not so realistic but somehow sucesfull thanks to that celebrity-designer frienship.
+Javier Josef Griesser The Balmain girl today is not realistic??? Was Decarnin's girl real? Being a 'girl' i find the Balmain girl today more real than the one before...
This is a lovely interview. Each person is made up of genes from his biological mom and dad. I’m sure of of them had ties also to the street. He is a pure talent. Enjoy your self Mr Olivier. We’re you doing go-go dancing as ur self or dressed up as a different person.
Thanks you for this wonderful interviews. I agree with the rest, if you could make one with Hedi Slimand, would be great! Keep up with the good work ;)
Many congratulations to you both.....U 'll go internationally soon ....M waiting for you in India......India wel come you ......you are my favourite.....M big fan of yours and your clothes....beat wishes

I would love too be his 😍🔥... muse highly respect this young talented men. Olivier really embodies the Balmain Brand and understands a culture of information
I luv Olivier roust he is hot n amizing n admiral real adorable in his work of fashion world n sweet classic wit a touch of poise he is a wonder n bold I would really like to meet him n do some fashion modeling for him seriously
Decarnin's look was so strong, must have been hard for Olivier Rousteing that he always have to justify his work to say that he's not doing what Christophe was doing... Even it sounds in my ear a bit agressive when he explain his difference (he's young, he listen young music, he design for young people... sounds like Christophe is doing old fashion...), I kinda understand. My feelings are very complicated above him but he does have a great talent! I'll always keep watching his work.
0LolaLola I'm pretty sure I've seen more than you, not because I'm old but because it's basically my job. Trends are inspired by older trends, it's a mash up between different lines, cuts and era. What he does isn't the same as what have been done, it's a modern version of it, strong and inspired. Sometimes I do think he takes shortcuts, like when he redo the givenchy smoking or the YSL saharienne, but talking generally, he really start to influence the trends now and whatever I like him or not, I respect his work.
I love Olivier. This interviewer is quite bad though. Really need to focus on listening instead of waiting to ask the next question. Olivier did well. Balmain forever!
+elfen caten their clothes are pretty expensive though and they don't produce that many for each piece. It's seen as a high end limited brand. Known enough that everyone can appreciate/acknowledge it but not to an extent that everyone can go and buy it
CRINGY! Olivier said, "Glamour." You kept saying "street." Definitely felt moments of tear down Olivier on way too many levels. Ironically, Olivier keep coming back to "communicate;" which this good interview could have been a stellar conservation if you listened to him and communicated with him rather get through your list of questions. Maybe it is generational.
Loved Balmain until he started engaging the Kardashians...don't think their followers have the wallet to purchase Balmain clothes unless he starts focusing on fragrances
The House of Balmain has gone down....KARDASHIAN is the name associated with Balmain. To be quite frank Balmain was a House built of elegance and beauty. Now it is associated with the social media and Kardashians......The designs and clothes are very tacky and the brand is very uncool.
I was thinking the same thing until I really started looking at the Clothes which are Beautifully made, "glamorous", and high quality. I love the Balmain Olivier has created.
