Perhaps she was aware of "how much blood has been spilled" by those inmates on the outside before ending up in prison. As you damn well know, prison violence is utterly minor in comparison.
She makes it sound like these places are just the happiest places to be. So much fun being there. She forget to mention PIA pays about $00.16 per hour. Awesome wages.
I was locked up worked hard for 6 months finally got my check of 200 dollars when I got out and said never again I rather work out here in the free world
@@smedleybutler8787 STFU with your modern-day plantation. The slaves on the plantation didn't have a choice but were forced to be there. They were beaten and punished and didn't get paid for the work they did. They had raggedly old clothes to wear. These prisoners committed crime(s) so they were there for a reason. The slaves were there because they were born black---that's not a crime. These prisoners are getting paid (little) but still a paid.
Congratulations! Let’s see what’s behind door number 1 ?!?! You win! A 10 year stay at a California vacation resort! Along with a full 10 year stay you will receive full accommodations of room and board.
Gotta love the overly styled hair, vacation tour guide levity of the reporter. Nothing like a jolly tour and history lesson about a very dark part of humanity.
She makes you forget that back in those days, prison was 10x worse when it came to if you were small or weak, you'd get knocked out and get your cheeks tooked, plus that ol ninja was rampant and a lot of inmates and cons had it; just giving it to one another... This is more like a timeshare greeting video.
You had to be in a gang in those days to survive and she just talk like it's primary school or something lol white folks in government and media wore proud of prison I can guarantee deep down she has racism in her heart
@@yeryang6061 come on fellas that smile just like a real estate agent selling a piece of property to ensure the safety of themselves and the financial gain they get hahaha
@@mbpsg In prison you have a program, Steady representation, County is full of people coming and going, Fighting their cases, people coming in off the streets brain's still scrambled from their drug of choice,Wives leaving and so on....HIGH LEVELS OF PANDEMONIUM, YOUNGSTERS TRYING TO MAKE A NAME FOR THEMSELVES, WHO IS TAKING OVER, WHO IS NO GOOD,ON AND ON AND ON.
Just thinking the same thing? Who is this jovial prison piece aimed at? The tone, The graphics, the music. . . The only logical conclusion I can see, would be the investors / Wall Street etc. "Get in on the action. . . The incarceration business is booming!"
"and here's the lovely gas chamber...it features an art deco style thats just to die for" is this whaman selling time shares or giving a tour of a prison?
She make it seem like prison is a vacation but what we don't realize is this is a training/orientation video for new hires for the California prison system
@@jeep19anything can happen please dont judge anyone homie. i used to be like you then got sentenced to 10 yrs. im free now tho but you never know what could happen.
Man SANQuentin in the 90’s sounds like THE PLACE to raise a family! This bitch should be in realestate she could sell snow to a snowman ⛄️ •man there’s no way in hell SAN Quentin really offered to teach the inmates deep sea diving courses, NO WAY IN HELL I ain’t buying that 😂
No one payed attention to how they said they use prisoners to do all the hard labor yet they only get paid a small fraction of what a normal worker would .
“Land of the free” sure does have a lot of prisons & this is only California. I wonder how many more prisons have been built in CA since this film came out 30+ years ago as well?
Reagan destroyed the system. “To hell with programs and rehabilitation, just lock the bastards up and let them rot” For anyone who thinks Ronnie was a good President-you are wrong
California Democratically ran has so many prisons so many prisoners??? Still to this day it's the same🤔 But they say they want to help us but theyve been doing the same shit for over 20 years👌
mid 80s this came out? right around the time the incarceration rate realy started getting out of control... prolly bot a coincidence videos like this were made. Trying to explain and humanize animal factories
First time offenders with non violent crimes need a clean slate. Serve their time, pay that debt and upon reentry they need a real chance at integrating back into society. Have the crime, arrest details hidden unless they are attempting to work a job that the info is vital such as hositals, law enforcement or anythinf requiring more than a smile amd handshake. 6months before release these people need to under go intensive deporgramming from prison life and the fucked up rules they all play by. Upon release they need someone who gives a shit about them and that they will listen to. My small workforce is over 90% felons. Violent ones need 5 years of good outside time and I won't think twice about hiring them. Granted I have had fellons who fell back into their ways but most just want a better way in life... a way to make enough to survive and through effort prosper. My workers are my family. We eat dinner together every friday after work. We all are tight knit and family. All i ask when hiring is you give us your all. In return we teach you how to professionally diagnose and repair appliances. This is a skill that's desperately needed no matter where you go on life. Every 6 months I have a private sit down with each member of my family. I talk with them to see how they are where they are and what dreams they have. The idea is to help each other. Of my 6 employees 2 have bought homes and are married with kids. 2 are on that path and i have 2 more that just got hired and are learning how to repair appliances. Ive never had such close friends. I had a blown water heater at 3am. I made one phonecall and my whole crew showed up without being asked. Somehow they even came with a brand new water heater to replace mine. Within 1hr the mess was cleaned up and a new waterheater installed. Ive never felt so much love before in my life. We need to rethink how post prison felons are treated. Granted ive had a couple thay just couldnt give the life up... but most latched on to me just as much as i latched on to them. I pay them very well and if the buisness grows so does their checks. I want them to suceed.
