Ive been to this lounge a few times and every time and its been awesome. The grab and go options were great. Last time was back in december when we had a layover to hawaii and it with a family 5 it was a great balance. Staff was pleasant. Surprisingly when it seem like peak hours there was still space for storage of luggage and seating.
The Capital One lounge is way better than the Centurion lounge at DFW. It’s bigger, has a way better design, more food options, a view of the runway, and the grab and go station is a great touch. It does get crowded and the cleanliness can be lacking on occasion, but it’s a great lounge
I have 2 lounge passes or whatever it’s called with my new capital one card, but would our kids be able to join us? Or would we have to take turns in the lounge lol
You would have to use one guest passes for each kid 🥲. Consider getting the Capital One Venture X so you can get unlimited access + 2 guests every time you go. Authorized users can also get in for free and bring 2 guests with them.
Any insight to when the cap one IAD lounge will be ready? I got the venture X card for this specific reason almost a year ago and I keep hearing that “it’s coming”
My home airport is DFW and it was so worth it to get the Venture X card so I can start every trip in this lounge. Definitely agree that it is a step above the AMEX lounges!
Well, since pretty much every centurion lounge is a dumpster fire full of pikers, and PP lounges you can actually get into in the US is elusive as Big Foot, the Cap One lounge has a pretty low bar. Still, its done very well. Maybe if Cap One doesnt hand out cards Venture cards like Amex does to anyone with a 620 fico score, they can keep it managed.
If you're watching this and thinking about applying for a Cap One X card, ... just be warned wait times are horrendous. U can't go up the elevator to use the restroom, grab water, grab-n-go, full stop. Food is 95% carbs. Bread, baked goods, and pastas with an insignificant amount of protein on top. X pts. rewards are good, but this perk has gone to way too many members and guests of members. Will likely not bother stopping by anymore, even if passing through DFW.
I agree! In June I was in the American Express lounge and I was impressed. NOW that I see your review, I have to go to Capital One lounge. It’s DEFINITELY on another level!
I haven't tried the CO lounge (I'm very interested to try it though), but when comparing to the Centurion lounges, I think location matters (as experiences vary by location). For example, the DFW Centurion is probably one of the worst ones (the IAH one is probably the worst) as it's quite small and always overcrowded (it has a terrible layout that makes overcrowding more pronounced). However, the DEN Centurion lounge is pretty phenomenal (have to compare it with the CO lounge whenever that opens up in DEN); and the food at the DFW Centurion is still very good.
Every time I go to the DEN centurion it’s a mess. Plates stacked high on a table because no one is cleaning them and super crowded. The LAS centurion is my favorite one the PHX is the worst one in my opinion
Denver originally was going to open June 2022!!!! I get delays but this is RIDICULOUS! I loved the DFW lounge... but now I've gone twice to Denver and have been disappointed it wasn't yet open. My next Denver trip is Sept.. followed by March 2024... if it's not open my March I'm going to flip a lid. 😅
@@druiz012 My VX annual fee is in March. If they haven't opened up the DEN lounge by then I'm canceling and just getting an Amex Platinum. The C1 lounge was a big reason why I got the VX instead, but I'm not gonna support C1 if they can't make good on their selling point. The C1 lounge is supposed to be better than Centurion but if it doesn't exist then Centurion wins by default
As long as you’re not flying standby and are confirmed on a flight then you should be fine. Confirmed seat means you have a seat reserved on the flight , your seat may have not been assigned yet.
i think after reviews all the airport lounge ..it does give me headache , so many card , so little time ...DONT forget annual fee of each card add up . I think the key for me , live simple ...less headache...Thats what people forget ! Some lounge i been thru , i am NOT impress .
TY for all your videos. For exotic trips to bora bora or Maldives, should I book the flight first or hotels first? If I see 4 nights available but I want to stay 6 nights, should I book them first then wait for the other 2 nights to become available or is it better just to line up the 6 nights then booking? What happen if I book either flight or hotel first then other just doesn't have any availability? How far out should I start booking?
DFW is my home airport, I travel at least once a month. Im tired of the food, they have not switched it up since when they first opened. The open bar is what keeps me happy. They need to at least switch their menu every quarter or so.
I have a REI Capital One, 'World Elite' card. They told me I am welcome to use airport lounges. Can you check that out for your videos please? Beautiful work, now I want to leave Amex Platinum.
@@MaxMilesPoints I called the phone number on the REI card. They said I am enrolled for free entry at all LoungeKey locations. Is that not Capital One?
Are you supposed to clean up your dishes and put them up somewhere or does the lounge have staff that go around doing this? Never been to a lounge and just curious what the proper etiquette is.
Great video Max!!! I thot Plaza Premium is a partner of this lounge? Anyway, are you going to the travel conference in Chicago in October? If so, I want to go with you, lol, thinking of going alone since wifey doesn't want to go. Just checking, lol, thanks again Max!!!
Thanks! Unfortunately, the Capital One Lounge is operated by Plaza Premium but is not part of the Plaza Premium lounge network. So the only way to get into the Capital One Lounge is to pay or have a card.
@@MaxMilesPoints I'll make sure my wife gets the VX so she can add me as an AU, lol You need to set up a travel conference here in San Diego, I'll go, I want to learn more travel hacks!!! Thanks Max!!!
The food and drink was top tier! I visited both the Centurion and Capital One Lounge last month. They were both “at capacity” when I came in which required me to sign up on the waiting list, but they seem to keep the Capital One Lounge better managed to not allow it to get crowded and the Capital One Lounge also was bigger. There was barely any seats in the Centurion. Missed the grab and go fridge and the draft lattes though! Will check them out next time for sure!
Bad comment. If it was sponsored it would say Paid Promotion and you think they would let me complain about the smelly shower curtain in a sponsored video? 😂
