I live in Hanoi, Vietnam. Watching this video helps me understand why the people here in Vietnam hate China so much.

The fact that we are watching that on devices made in China is mind-blowing.

I begin to think that some of “missing persons” in Hong Kong were kidnapped by one of those vehicles and made them disappear permanently.

I....I'm generally baffled as to how horrific this is. This sounds like something you'd hear in a dystopian novel that would make you roll your eyes as to how absurd it sounded.

It makes me think about the Futurama episode with the suicide booths. “How do you wish to die?” “Fast and painful (stabby knife) or slow and painful (whirling blades of death )?” --“uh, fast and painless please” “You have chosen slow and painful!”

I am often complaining about my life in Europe, talking about being depressed, suicidal thoughts etc... But after seeing this I have another appreciation for my life. Don`t forget that your miserable life here may be a dream for somebody living in such a sick environment!

I like how they even have to lie about how “sophisticated” their death vans are. It says the cockpit can monitor everything going around within a few km of the van. What a hilarious lie.

Fun fact: Nazi-Germany also had death vans, they invented them to 'clean up' the frontier areas while expanding.

China is the perfect example of an entire nation having their souls deleted.. It’s truly tragic. I know that there remain a multitude that have held on to their humanity, but it seems like more are lost to the absolute dystopia that is the abhorrent CCP each day.

I am 75 years old . Born in Shanghai China, raised in Taiwan, I have been in the United States for more than 52 years. It is unbelievable see more evidence is emerging. What we are witnessing are the same tactics used by other communist country , Unfortunately many Chinese people lived through the evil Communist regime more 70 years. Sad to see Chinese people are truly brainwashed into the CCP's primary belief; the state comes first, everything and everybody must serve the state, there is no tolerance for the individual. To that end, free speech is not tolerated, religion is not tolerated. Independent thought is not tolerated. Would you lie down and let the CCP harvest your organs for the sake of the state???

I've heard of a Chinese vlogger who found a seemly abandoned facility that had a staggering amount of human bones on its floor. The video was deleted and the vlogger disappeared soon after.

It's interesting to note that Japan also has a 98%+ conviction rate, and suspects are treated as guilty until proven innocent here... AND Japan has the death penalty. But Japan does not have much controversy surrounding any of this, because simply put, false arrests here almost never happen, and the death penalty is VERY RARELY used (Japan's death row has about 100 people on it right now, and the total number of prisoners killed in Japan since the year 2000 is less than 100). There was one highly publicized false arrest case from the 1950s or 1960s, I believe? And basically everyone involved in the false arrest wound up losing their jobs after it came to light or, in some cases... ending it all. This is the big difference, as I see it: in Japan, the judicial and penal systems are indeed brutal, but arrests are treated as an absolute last resort -- police here don't WANT to arrest anyone if they don't have to, and will do everything they can to avoid it, attempting to resolve disputes through lesser means like fines whenever and however possible. As a result, if you're arrested in Japan, it's because you very blatantly, publicly, visibly did something very, very bad. So of course you're not going to get acquitted in court -- you wouldn't have been arrested if the police didn't have an absolute mountain of evidence against you, since if it ever came to light that you were FALSELY arrested, it would be their careers and livelihoods on the line, and NOBODY wants that threat looming over them. So, yeah. If I lived in China, I would be scared to death of this. But I DO live in Japan... and I have no fear whatsoever of being arrested. I bow to police officers as I pass them, say hello to them, and they say hello back and are always very nice. I may occasionally be "profiled" and asked to show my residence card (it's only ever happened to me once, but I've heard of it happening to others a half-dozen times), but whenever that happens, it's just a minor annoyance -- I know that if I just do as I'm asked and show it to them, they'll let me go with an apology for wasting my time a mere minute or two later. And they'll also remember me from that point on, and never pull me aside again. Chinese police seem much more inclined to exercise their power -- they WANT to arrest you. They WANT to kill you. And that is genuinely terrifying. They do not exist to serve and protect the general populace, but to serve and protect the CCP. In short, despite there existing a similarly high conviction rate here, I thank goodness every day that I live in Japan, and not China. My fellow Americans often confuse the two countries, but once you've experienced what it's like in either one, you quickly realize that they couldn't be more different. May the people of China one day know true peace and freedom.

Ok, the worst part is that I own a 2016 IVECO daily LWB Hi-top 7.5 tonne van which I use as a converted home and they used it as a model for the death van animation....

Remember, those who bitch about their rights in Europe and US have no fucking idea about how bad it can get.

I remember as a kid, sky news talked about these vans, way back in the early 2000s and I was genuinely disturbed that these things exist.

ER nurse here. The hope is that the potassium will stop the heart and it usually does, but it may not necessarily do so in all cases. The paralytics that were given earlier and the state-employed doctors that "verified" the death support the likelihood that at least a few of the convicts went into the cremation van while still alive but paralyzed...

Yet another grim thing about this, though this is not exclusive to china. I have seen an excellent video by Jacob Geller which discusses how lethal injections are misrepresented as far more painless and humane than they actually are. Since I see similar chemicals being used here, I would not be surprised if a chinese death van is actually incredibly painful, and that you don't really lose consciousness and get to feel all that shit being done to you til the end.

Strange how they go through all the complications of putting up curtains for your privacy, while it would have been simpler and cheaper just to have a normal van without any windows. Like they're hinting to a possibility of it being also shown to public outside

The 'injection' is NOT painless. A woman who woke up during surgery , had the same active drug which is used during 'lethal injection ' said it felt like her blood was boiling. She was in so much pain that she passed out .

They say around the 9 minute mark that they can monitor the situation a couple of km around... So people behave even if there is no van around because they might see you using their monitoring equipment..

This just adds to the giant list why I would never set foot in China.

Having it in a van also helps hide the numbers. If they went to a building, you could probably estimate the number, but just seeing a van out you won't know if someone's in it or not.

I've heard many horror stories about things going on in China, but to be completely honest, I've never seen anything as horrifying as this.

Why would you cremate people in a van, though? Cremation isn't, like, 5 minutes on fire and then you get a pile of ash, it takes hours to turn the bone into ash after the soft tissues have been taken care of, which is why you can see bone fragments leftover from cremations. So, you either park the van as you're cremating the body, or you drive around as the body is being cremated for 4-5 hours. Only reason I could see them doing that would be to scare people with the smell of burning flesh/bones and the smoke.

6:20 I'm not a doctor (dropped out of med school but still know a thing or two especially pharmacology and chemistry ) I would rather take a shot to the head or heart then lethal injection in the USA.:Here is my experience with death: I have been shot in the stomach and you have no idea how bad the pain your body is capable of living through, on top of wishing I would die to end the pain, I was completely conscious until I was DOA five minutes before arriving at the hospital from blood loss, saw the "light in the tunnel", the whole 9 yards, and have PTSD from it. Here is why lethal injection is WORSE then FIRING SQUAD: Lethal injection should be OD'ing you on morphine. The current drugs cause a great deal of harm and suffocate you while you are totally conscious. Lethal injection is the same as a "john the baptist" by the mob; holding your head under water until the bubbles stop coming up, only its chemical and it doesn't always go right . On sixty minutes(very credible news program in America) they documented a man in the "bible belt" states in the US, that had a botched execution. At one point the inmate was trying to help the nurse get the needle in because he was so traumatized that a hardened criminal, who survived death row, was afraid of it going wrong a second time. It turned out the drugs were put in place by the governor; a republican of the "moral right christian party" had quote said when on a call with the medical company coordinating the whole thing, he was supposed to know what the procedure was, as he reestablished the death penalty, but did not know the procedure as had no background in anything medicine, he was a business man. Why he did have that responsibility, and not a doctor is beyond me, but thats how the laws work. When he was inquired into which drugs and technique to use he tried to say the name of the drug but then said: "I don't know its on that wikipedia thing" . Seriously death from doctor wikipedia. I wish this was fake but it is not. Lethal injection is not a humane way to go like when you put down your dog, which by the way would work the same as humans, where you are put to sleep, but think if you are just going to sleep why the serious amount of excessive restraints? That's because the body will be going into shock/panic and other things. Give me my blind fold wooden pole and last cigarette any day, over lethal injection. Oh and the electric chair? Like being burnt from the inside out, I don't have to elaborate.

Funny how they say that lethal injections are "humane" whilst it has been shown multiple times that lethal injections are drawn out and painful.

12:00 I think this goes further. They want to control what you think in the last moments of your life, so they instruct you more or less on what you should think about in that situation. Controlled until the last breath. And looking further: That process seems not very economical. The whole process could be streamlined by a lot, if it is done that way at all...

I have cremated many body's in a very respectable Mortuary and I can assure you NO ONE is going to take that kind of time and lots of effort to perform a proper cremation. The amount of gas power and energy involved to cremate the average 225 human is 4 hours of intense burn...cool down...bone grinder...No way in a van, no way. The ovens would melt that wimpy van plus the weight??? No way. Just the smell would gag the worker. So it is a farce to say the least.

This is how they also have the ability to source organs for transplant so quickly!

I remember in middle school when we touched on the subject of WW2 and the atrocities of the Nazis, the first thing mentioned was mobile killing units.

People I know always had trouble understanding why the Nazis documented all of their atrocities. I always tried explaining that they didn't think they were committing atrocities, they had all kinds of laws to enable what they did, and they were the government so they have to have everything in writing and with all proper legal authority. It's only after the regime is removed by force that a new regime or foreign conquerors decide to call them atrocities and find all those paper trails and official archives useful.

9:30 I think this is something big that you overlooked. Why does this van need a massive surveillance suite with a range of kilometers if it's just going to jails to execute convicted prisoners? That thing seems much like a hunter/killer team now.

I remember seeing Soylent Green when I was younger and thinking surely this couldn't ever happen. Well, I was wrong. I know they're not eating these people ( hopefully), but I am almost certain those organs aren't making it to the cremation bus. I heard about the "death vans" over a decade ago, only it was organ harvesting. A prisoner would be picked up by the van and transported to the hospital, during which time his/her organs were "harvested" which depending on the organs had to be done within 15 min or so. Story was NO ANASTISIA" was used during the process. Remember this is the same country if your executed by firing squad, the government or "party" sends a bill for the bullet(s) used to your family which must reimburse the party. (Services rendered?)

I went to china for the first time last year. We were invited to play a festival. We thought it was a scam at first so we took it slow but then it turned out to be legit. The process of getting permission from the government was... interesting... the usual checking of all the lyrics of our songs to make sure we weren't anti-government-y'know, the usual things you gotta do when you're traveling abroad. The security at the festival was bonkers compared to the security at the airport. There were 3 government police-force security checks to get in to the festival grounds, the final in which you had to scan your ID. The festival had only a few hundred people in a space you could cross quickly in a clearing on the property of a resort. It was a daytime family thing, and the entire perimeter was a wall of police. I had major jetlag but the culture shock was almost as strong. When I asked our host if he had traveled much, he said no because he was Uyghur and the government made it very difficult for him to travel. He had little freedom of movement. My partner was like "What did he say? I missed that", and I just shot him a death glare and told him later. The whole experience was like accidentally falling into a universe you never thought was really real. Everything "seemed" "fine" but there was this collective stiffness that was unsettling. We were only there for a couple days and I gaslit myself a little, telling myself I was just imagining it... but there was a stark contrast between china and japan that i noticed as soon as we got off the plane in toyko. Like, Japan is way more like Canada than it is like China. I will be visiting again but next time I'll be prepared.

I find it hard to believe that prisoners executed in a death van had even a mock trial.
