This would have to cover a team of security guards to cover days off and shift work. Most of the cost would be worker's comp and liability insurance for the guards.
Why hire a security guard when you can just call the police that "there's a guy inside" and that police officer will spend all night walking around with a flashlight trying to find them.
Go ahead and call the police. Maybe they'll drive by if they aren't running a speed trap. Police aren't interested in anything that isn't a traffic violation.

I am always amazed at how many people have no clue that the building is loaded with asbestos. It can't simply be "imploded" because the asbestos fibers would become airborne and be virtually impossible to clean up. Part of the reason the building isn't being torn down is because of the difficulty in doing so. It has to be dismantled and the pieces takes away by truck.
They can, it will take a while due to the fact of the mess it will make, two it will make downtown much empty without the building. But I agree, the building is pretty old and it's pretty much abandoned, so they need to take it down for more skyscrapers.
Wish they didn’t close it down a lot of homeless people could have used it to sleep there and place away from the cold and the rain and it was just a cool hangout spot in general the view at the top was amazing just chilling smoking with your friends it truly is a vibe I’m happy I was able to experience I think they’re knocking it down soon cuz someone recently bought it they just recently started cleaning it up and closing all the entrances they finally got the metal sheet on the side
You gotta figure that theres at least 2 to 6 guards to cover it 7 days a week 24hrs a day they are probably making 40 to 50k a year plus the overhead costs for the company.

i thinks there another bulding like that with huge graffiti in the side of the bulding bc i was in the highway and saw it, either they havent removed the graffiti or its another abandonded bulding in the side of downtown
Damn, conver it to a temporary tourist attraction so people can go tour around for let's say like $20. Hire security and guard it. Is it that difficult? Obviously owner doesn't have any money to do.
Correction: "asked not to show his face because he is illegal." A major issue in houston which has damaged the trades out here. Yes folks. They run businesses now-
They could have remodeled this instead of building yet another high rise across the Metro bus station just a few blocks away. This new building used to be a parking lot. Stop building and reinvest.
