I LOVED haggling in Dubai. It came so naturally to me. We would haggle in teams. That way the person NOT buying seems disinterested and anxious to leave. The person buying is haggling and when the last price is given the wingman says, “let’s go, I saw the same thing at another shop down the street”. Worked 100% of the time! 👍

The awesome thing was when I gave them one Durham to cross the harbor it was valued at about 27 US cents and seems that it’s roughly the same many years later! That definitely amazes me!
As an Arab who goe ps to gold souks way to often, bargaining is always key. And “last price” is such a classic. Those steps are literally always what my parents do, because in these souks you can always bargain.

Dubai is so beautiful gosh. I remember going to the gold souk, and not to mention the boat cruise, desert safari car ride, the dancing Fountain, the buhj khalifa. I can't wait to come back again.
been there its overrated for me, best time i had there was actually being with people who were barely able to feed them selfs cus there pay was shit i had a better time with them on my whole trip there, and yes i paid for the fun we had cus i have it good in the uk compared to what they were telling me.

Haha... my family usually get their wedding jewellery from these souks for any indian wedding. We usually go through a lot of samples before bargaining. I remember that these souks had really nice tiled floors that all the kids liked to skate on. (Yes, I have bumped into a lot of people that way)
