Hi there! I am from Fortaleza. The place is really nice, and you just need to be aware for small crimes such as phone and jewelery thieves. Love the way you explored around, this is actually one of the safest areas in the city. The weather for us there is basically the same everyday, so there is no need for us to stay at the beach all day, specially with all the sun. We usually go to the beach during the morning when is not so hot! Brazil can be fun and people are usually friendly, if you go to the right places. Hope you enjoyed!

Interesting to see how all the pavements and other walking areas are tiled just like those everywhere in the mother country of Portugal. The sidewalks are extremely clean and well supplied with cafes/bars for everyone. Good to see that cycling is encouraged! The place appears to be relatively safe and well policed: an excellent video, Philly.

Philly hope all is blessed. I've been in the Fortaleza area since 2018. What I can tell you is like most places, most of the murders are gang vs gang. If you are in tourist area for the most part they are going to steal from you. The hood has internal laws that the tourists are of limits because the majority of their family make money selling to tourist. If they get caught stealing from a tourist they get a beat down.

Telling you Philly the best way to stay in shape is just to walk. Do it for like 40 minutes 5 days a week. Do it on a calorie deficit in the morning that just means do it on an empty stomach just have some water before and then when you're finished walking you can have a light breakfast. What is ironic is that the rich ppl live where the poor ppl go to swim at the beach. Whereas the rich ppl go to the beach praia do futuro where the poor ppl live. Other than a few mansions in the dunes there, Praia do futuro is surrounded by a large favela - Serviluz

Fortaleza isn't Brazil's second most dangerous city. Considering only capitals, Fortaleza is ninth place. And next year, when they update the data, the rate is expected to fall by 30%.

Why is there no one on the beach. First looks like late afternoon. Looks like the Miami of Brasil. Beautiful Beach but there is no one on that Beach. Unless the locals know something you do not. The gangs are on the beach?
