with all the technology , and projects such as this , 3 basic questions should be address 1 ... what kind of jobs will there be available 2 ... who will decide who lives there 3 ... what type of regime will govern residents because we know well how the rich exploits the rest, its simple to assume who's going to be in charge and get away with their filth
Maybe scale the project down to test it. But like in previous comments who will live in the city and who will be restricted from entering and leaving the city? This would be more like a compound if it didn't allow the outside public to enter but then again we do have gated communities in America so...
They should still do the city and the residents should maybe sign a contract that they understand about the technology being used and what's being used for as long as there's a reasonable explanation there is plenty of people who love technology and would love to participate in a city like this especially cuz it opens doors for new innovation
Yeah a reasonable explanation. Because we know how reasonable governments can be and they always play by the rules. The unfortunate truth is in order to have a city like that we have to give up absolutely everything in the way of privacy and information. Little bit of cool technology and convenience isn’t worth it. Thats how dictatorships get started but now they’ll have all the technology to really enforce it.

You saved yourselves from being one of the first city’s to have a social credit system is what you did and your upset about it. One thing I’ve learned in almost 50 years of being on this planet is that the government doesn’t do anything for our benefit to make our lives easier. They only do it to benefit themselves and make their lives easier and their pockets fatter. I would love to have a city like that that would be great, but in order to do that you have to give up too much which leads people to want even more power and information and next thing you know you’re snitching on your neighbor and cant get a flight to see your daughter cuz you watched to many movies this month and your points were docked.
