My dad was a Coast Guard Lighthouse keeper for 23yrs retired.. I've got a tattoo of Browns Head Light on Vinalhaven, Maine on my forearm that was his last tour as a keeper
Ok...seeing the inside of the lighthouse was great... but the lack of narrative was disappointing...no history...no stories....come on guys....a bit more effort would be fantastic!!!!
I need pictures of the mercury in the top that used mercury in them b4 the new small flashlight they stuck in them al 2014 etc. They dont mop up the mercury and this is a major part of the gyro system can you help?metal rivited decks isold world fyi they replace it with riveting wooden steps!
Two guys climbing a lighthouse tower...big deal! How about when built, where built, when abandoned? Some history of this light-house would make for an interesting video...as it is, it's a wasted video
The Great Isaac light house was erected in 1850 to prevent ships from disappearing in the Bermuda Triangle. The 152’ light House has become a source of many of the areas mysteries, rather than a protector. The first 2 floors, the staircase has rusted away, so getting past that to climb this lighthouse is a big accomplishment. Video taken to the top where very few people get to go anymore. Thank you for asking!
How did you lot get inside this sucker? Last I heard, the Bahamians ripped part of the staircase out to prevent people from doing the exact same thing you just did here.
Testosterone: 3:04 lol Estrogen takes one look at that rope and ladder only shit and goes, "how do you know the platform is stable how do you know the steps won't break how do you know the floor won't fall through why aren't you using caribiners if I step on that I'll fall and break my teeth out" etc etc etc
It is a working lighthouse and the batteries for the light have to be replace. Although Bahamians do not like this island, they think it is haunted. American's have no problem climbing the light house and replacing the batteries. An entire family lived on this small island at one time, they all disappeared.
