Creative thinking critical analysis of movements actions and random effects of dice roll. NPC responses actions saving throws. Mean while Magic the gathering a new card is flipped quick read and turn ends. So yes your right. ;)

@@matt-lang Trick is setting up a dice event page on your DM events calendar. No one does it any more. But I use to have most of the die rolls ready before the game time started. Most of the players where put into groups as part of a larger story arch. But was younger then had more time and tones of paper work. One line on a note book was one day of events from random encounters to weather. Only slow up was good RP time. And a few creative players that worked events. We use to rp mechwarrior to. Using a combinations of Lancewarrior rule sets and Airospace system to make a grid for a invasion force. This let us do a wide range of battles and combat for flanking attacks with out having to do a normal Mech battle. Back then with some creative work math skills and some paper you can run large campaigns with one GM and a few helpers to fill in the gap.

It can definitely feel like High Stakes when your party members start dropping like flys after one of them roll a Nat 1 while interacting with the Encounter or Npc.
