Thanks for visiting Jodhpur. It's an underappreciated city. It used to be the capital and cultural centre of Rajasthan but after independence, Jaipur was chosen political capital to create some distance from border. So Jodhpur lagged behind in terms of infrastructure. But it's catching up :) Also, that dress you were intrigued by was the traditional dress worn by dancers and performers while performing Kalbeliya dance form.
You guys should visit Andaman and Nicobar islands in India. It has blue water and white beaches. Great for scuba diving. Now has tropical forest vibes as well.
Gatta curry is an absolute Rajasthan vegetarian speciality. Apart from that ask the locals for Bati-Churma and Lal Maas. Local snacks like Kachoris are also a must have.
certainly one of the best. however my personal fav is kumbhalgarh fort which is a part of the 6 heritage hill forts of RJ . the others being chittor fort, jaisalmer fort, ranthambore fort, gagron fort and amer fort .
These are traditional dresses of Rajasthan, and yes you guys are right they were here to perform dance, etc. as well. The fort was where Darknight Rises of Batman by Nolan was shot
