Even in a tough place like this, you meet friendly people! I plan to go back to this area during the day to show some of the amazing food you can find here from all over the world. Hope you enjoyed!
Last night I watched a video about a bad neighborhood in Philly that was really shocking. Tonight the worst neighborhood in Tel Aviv, is like any normal city in the US.
It's actually nice. I wouldn't mind living there based on the video. There are people walking their pets and almost no homeless people on the streets. Israel has a low crime rate.
Indeed, the worst place in Tel Aviv (I live there). How many street shooting in a year? Zero. How many people being mugged on gunpoint? Zero. How many women raped on a side street? Zero. You can be a lone woman and still walk your dog there at night. Tel Aviv, one of the best, safest, and most fun party beach cities in the world.
I was once in this area, and a woman told me that she hadn't eaten for several days and had children at home, etc. She wanted money for food, so I told her, no problem, I'll buy you whatever you want, meaning there's a store here and I'll buy you whatever you need. She insisted that she wanted money, and I told her no, I only buy food. So she left. But another time, there was a man who really asked for money for food. I told him I'd buy him some, and he came with me to the store, and we bought food together.
Its always interesting to see slums in the developed world. Usually people don’t believe me when I say that my country (Canada) has some really bad slums. It’s not too hard to find 3rd world living conditions in the developed world
End of the seventies this was a fine, very lively typical working class area with old fashioned Berlin type of apartments. I had friends living there and loved it. It was before the then new Busstation was even build and we still had the old Tagana haMerkazi. A totally messy overcrowded noisy full of oriental music and food stands square with bus platforms and surrounding streets used for busstops and shops everywhere. SO atmospheric and walking distance to the center. It was all abandoned late nineties and later demolished. Times gone by. In those days one could rent an apartment in good north part of Tel Aviv for a few hundred dollars. Wages were very low then. שלום
Sorry to disappoint you, but that's not "slums"... LOL The Slum of Israel looks like high-end neighborhood compared to the slums we have here in the USA... Tel Aviv slum looks clean and safer... I live in San Francisco, and our slum neighborhood is called "Tenderloin"... It is literally a cesspool of homelessness, crime and human feces are everywhere on the streets!!! Your video made me laugh! I would live there!
Our slumhole on the east coast is Washington DC. People live in a huge White House, on Capitol Hill and Potomac Falls. It’s disgusting and so are the people.
Cause South of Tel-Aviv is far from being "the worst slums in Israel" I can guarantee you that some neighborhoods on the south cities of Israel are far worse than the slums of San Francisco
Been here in 2015 walked around with a friend, you had to be with eyes open i remember in this neighborhood, thank you for showing and reviving this memory of the neighbordhood near the bus station! Toda
i have to tell you those slums are looking much better then they used to be, i remember i used to walk there after work to catch the mini busses that are nearby in 2014 and that place and those alleys were filled with rats running around every corner, people screaming, moaning sounds and a lot of shady people in every corner.
Its not look like slum, it's clean area no garbage, compare to other states slums. Should see slum in Europe, USA, South America states, other Middle East region like Jordan, Istanbul,Asia like Insia, Bangladesh, Pakistan.
A Jew who served in the Turkish army. Normally, only Muslim Turks choose the military profession. Jews and other minorities join the army just to complete their compulsory military service, but as far as I know, no one chooses it as a profession, until I saw this video of yours. I have to say I was quite surprised.
@gurcharankalra1657 who told you everyone in Israel get monet from the government? Only the poor receive government assistance. But those living in this area are mostly ilegal migrants. Apart from some medical help they don't receive other assistance.
@@reunier1 oh is it? My friend is a Russian jew met him in goa .. seen him get money and this is what he told me... he some ashkanazi jew. I always thought all Israeli get money from government... thanks for letting me know its not true..
Man , I loved that video, it was like an adventure, because you All guys were brave , because you all guys went to explore The unknown Places without being scared. I love Israel 🇮🇱 one day I’m going to visit this beautiful country, also The Turkish guy was a real good man , taking you guys in a little tour & also I can till He loves Israel 🇮🇱 maybe he is a refugee or asylum seekers in Israel, I hope he get his permanent resident card in Israel soon , Peace & Love from California USA 🇺🇸 I’m Egyptian American moved to USA 2011 I still Consider My self an immigrant too even I’m U.S Citizen.
I think the mix of Turks, Filipinos, Chinese and more is as home feeling as ever. And the bad side of town looks slum like, but still was nicer than many places in the US too. I want to visit.
I keep watching videos like this of people going to “bad areas” out of curiosity and I commend your bravery but I’m also very envious because I wouldn’t be able to do any of this as a queer solo female.
There isnt enough chinese in Israel for a proper chinatown, but many shops in tel aviv, chinese usually come here as construction workers, and more might come because of the war and lack of arab construction workers.
I think this area is alright just during the morning, I used to go here often. I do notice that a lot of migrants work here, yeah. My mom bought me a Playstation 5 in the Central Bus Station's shitty mall along with a nice video game. I tend to avoid Tel Aviv Central Bus Station because it's now disgusting, revolting and most stores are closed, but sometimes I go there to buy Filipino pork BBQ.
I live in America $850 for a room!!! A ROOM!!! In downtown looks like this I make money but minimum wage is $7.25 . Can’t wait to go to Israel! I’ve gotten attacked 3 times in 24 hours. Twice by drug addicts while walking and once by a drug addicts dog. It’s wild…. Honestly this isn’t bad 😂 and cheaper lol
That looks way better than any city in California. Mexico seems way more dangerous too. Interesting experience with the Turkish business owner. I’ve had encounters with Turkish people in the US. Most own businesses, and are EXTREMELY friendly and gracious people. Seeing it in other countries really reinforces that stereotype of the average Turkish expat being extremely friendly and successful.
The people who use public transportation are the poor. It was planned very bad in the 60th like a labirint - the buses on the roof (there is a bridge) and the shops in the basement. People are coming to the bus platforms on the roof to change buses but not going to the abandoned shops in the basement accept the poor people of the neighbourhood who choose to live there because it's cheap and next to public transportation.
Hey! I wanna ask, can you visit Gaza (Gaza, the city) as an Israeli? You know, right now? Or that you have to wait till the war's over so that you can visit it? Just asking.
Where is he complaining exactly? He just shows a troubled neighborhood. They exist in Arab countries as well. We don’t really need to talk about the gulf states, right?
he didnt complain, and i am an israeli and i dont complain eithrt. we have manu Muslims from Sudan and they are generally dont make problems, so nobdoy is harasing them. israelis are not as bad as you think
