Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO, recently purchased the components of an $80 million New York City mega-residence. Before Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world, purchased a three-level penthouse at 212 Fifth Avenue and two additional apartments, CNBC got a tour of the triplex with Sotheby’s International Realty broker Nikki Field.
Jeff Bezos' new penthouse at 212 Fifth Avenue has five bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms and a seven-room master suite. Moreover, Bezos' master bathroom contains a tub with views of the Empire State Building.

I think he gave up $40 Billion of his Amazon stocks to his ex-wife in the divorce settlement, so now worth $100 Billion (depending on stock price) but yeah, $80 million isn't much at all for 12 figure people.

Zachary Laid Finding Freedom think you’re forgetting that $140B is his net worth, not his bank account balance. Most of that net worth will be tied up in stocks and shares etc.

Most of his money is tied up in stocks. Each year he sells a little to invest in his space company. He knows he has far more money that he needs. Also he gave his ex wife shares but said she wouldn't get the right to control the board with those shares that would be left with bezos. It's a smart deal. In today's time most people lose wealth after a few generations.

I live in a 120 year old country home surrounded by fresh air, fields and trees, overlooking a valley and lake and teeming with wild life. I sure am happy that Jeff Bezos and his like prefer glass, concrete, noise and pollution to nature's priceless abundance.

For those of you saying it's overpriced: you clearly have no idea how real estate market works in New York City. This apartment is located at 212 5th ave. You can see the Flatiron Building from the rooftop, and that's one of the most expensive areas in one of the most expensive cities in the whole world. It's not just the apartment -- it's the location too. Haters gonna hate now.

@@MikeKayK sir luxury housing inventory across the united states for the last 3 years has been sitting open. Theres numerous articles about it. Brokers have been slashing prices just to attract buyers. So yes the market is overpriced.
